Reborn Second Chance With The Scheming Tycoon novel Chapter 64

Chapter 63 Weren’t we supposed to be faking this?-2

She left in a rush right after, not giving anyone time to react.

CAT

Damien Taylor was a complete contrast to his mom-always so cool and composed. Liam, on the other hand, totally took after her.

Amelia Johnson had pictured her visit to a rich family being filled with awkwardness and side-eyes. Instead, she was getting nothing but warmth from everyone.

She opened the cabinet, curious about the mysterious gift. And the moment she saw what was inside, her brain did a system reboot.

Uh… was this for real?!

She pulled out a couple of garments-if you could even call them that-with barely any fabric to speak of.

Who could wear this? Was this even made for actual people?!

She dug out a normal-looking robe and headed straight for the bathroom.

Fresh out of the shower, she stepped into the room, only to spot Damien standing in front of the open cabinet.

Oh no. She’d forgotten to shut it!

Cringe alert level: MAX.

She cleared her throat loudly. “Hey, I’m done. You better get in there quick. Your mom said the water’s getting cut off soon.”

“What’s all this?” Damien asked, clearly baffled by the items he was staring at.

“Just something your mom gave me. Girl stuff. You wouldn’t get it,” Amelia said in a hurry, rushing over to close the cabinet and dragging Damien away from it. Thank goodness he didn’t ask too many questions- or things would’ve gotten seriously awkward.

While Damien was showering, Amelia stuffed Evelyn’s “enthusiastic” gift into a bag and shoved it into a corner of the closet.

Her phone had died before dinner, and of course, she hadn’t brought a charger.

When Damien came out of the bathroom, she looked up from the couch.

“Hey, do you have a charger? My phone’s been dead for hours.”

He walked over and leaned down towards her, a mix of his body wash and faint scent wrapping around her. The smell alone was enough to make her want to take a bite.

Then, from behind her, he grabbed a charger and handed it to her.

She grinned. “It was right there this whole time? I totally missed it.”

After plugging in the phone, it lit up with several missed calls-all from Ethan Collins.
