Chapter 66 The campus belle
Just then, Emily Carter walked over. “Hey Amelia, didn’t you say you weren’t coming?”
“I had no idea the party you mentioned was the same one Sabrina was talking about.” Amelia Johnson shot him a playful wink. “She told me your school’s like top-tier in the country. How come you never mentioned that before?”
Emily shrugged. “You never asked. Not really something worth bragging about.”
Amelia chuckled. “Can’t believe you three went to the same school. Small world, huh?”
“Yeah.” Sabrina Johnson forced a smile, trying to figure out how someone like Amelia, who didn’t look remotely wealthy, ended up graduating from Weston University.
“Funny thing is, Auntie said earlier that my cousin graduated from some no-name college.” Amelia laughed lightly. “Guess that means you and Ethan are in the same boat, huh?”
Ethan Collins frowned. “If Weston’s just some random no-name school, then the rest of the universities in this country don’t even qualify as that.”
“What do you mean? Are you saying ‘no-name school’ is a bad thing?” Amelia blinked innocently, feigning confusion.
Sabrina’s face stiffened a bit. She jumped in quickly, “Sis, you heard it wrong. My mom was talking about another University.”
Amelia nodded thoughtfully. “Ohhh, that makes more sense. I’m not really caught up on all that.”
“Cousin, take me to meet your friends.” Amelia grabbed onto Emily’s arm and flashed him a wide grin.
Once they walked off a bit, Emily asked, “You seriously wanna meet my friends?”
Amelia let go of his arm. “Not really. I just didn’t wanna stay back there anymore.”
“I thought you weren’t coming. What made you change your mind?” Emily narrowed his eyes. “Don’t tell me you came because of Ethan?”
Amelia cracked her knuckles and gave him a side glance. “What do you think, hmm?”
Emily swallowed hard. “No way you’d be into him. He’s not even a match. Compared to Damien Taylor? Please. That dude doesn’t even deserve to carry Damien’s shoes.”
Amelia: “… Why are you suddenly dragging Damien into this?”
“I’m just saying, with a guy like Damien around, who’d even bother looking at Ethan? You’re not blind or dumb. And with how he’s always playing the nice guy around Sabrina? Red flags everywhere. I wouldn’t date him even if you paid me.”
Amelia: “…Is Damien here or something? You’re laying it on kinda thick.”
Emily tilted his chin. “Do I look like someone who kisses up? I’m being 100% real here.”
Amelia lifted her gaze and, sure enough, Damien Taylor was right there. She blinked, caught off guard.

“Wait, Damien went to Weston too?”
Clam
“Far as I know, nope. But his brother Liam did.” Emily added, “And just so you know, I didn’t see Damien earlier. I wasn’t buttering him up or anything.”
Damien glanced over at Amelia briefly before looking away, and for some reason, it left her feeling a little… off.
Before long, a crowd started gathering around Damien. Honestly, if he wasn’t almost six-foot-three, he probably would’ve disappeared in all that buzz.
Liam Taylor stood right next to him, and people were using that as an excuse to try to get a word in with Damien. But the guy? Totally cold face on, didn’t give anyone a chance.
Just then, a young guy with a’camera came up. “Hey Miss, sorry to bother you-are you the campus belle of Weston?”
Amelia shook her head. “Nope, I’m not from Weston. Just tagging along with a friend.””No offense, I’m from the journalism department. Just here to snap some event pics,” the guy explained.
A girl walked over, not looking too pleased. “What’s wrong with you? The campus belle’s over there.”
“Sorry, senior, this area’s kinda crowded-I didn’t spot her at first,” he apologized and quickly followed her lead.
“If you went to our Weston Uni, I bet you’d win ‘most beautiful campus belle’ hands down,” Emily Carter glanced toward the so-called campus belle and clicked his tongue. “Being pretty’s not enough, gotta have a decent personality too. Word is, she’s lacking in that department.”
“Wow, talk about judging a book by its cover-and spreading hearsay too,” Amelia Johnson stood up. “Not my circus, not my monkeys. I’m heading to the restroom.”
Somewhere nearby, a sharp gaze landed on Amelia. Zoey Mitchell turned to Chloe Hughes and asked, ” You seen that girl before?”
