The Johnsons’ Residence.
“Mom, we spent so much money and it was totally useless. Amelia still managed to steal the spotlight again today…” Sabrina grumbled as she filled Grace in on what had just happened.
“She’s a graduate from University College Moon?” Grace looked like she’d just swallowed a lemon. “No way. I thought she barely made it through a trade school.”
“Damien and Zoey both invited her out, saying she’s their junior. You think they’d fake that?” Sabrina didn’t want to believe it either, but the truth hit hard.
Grace scowled. “That brat is definitely playing games. She never mentioned a word about any of this- what a schemer.”
Sabrina grabbed a needle and started stabbing a doll like mad. “Witch! You think you can take all the limelight? I’ll stab you ugly!”
“Calm down, sweetie, let me call my friend again. Maybe it just needs a bit more time to work.” Grace was fuming too, unable to swallow seeing Amelia shine.
She tried calling, but the number was no longer in service.
“What’s going on? Why’s it saying the number’s invalid?” Sabrina asked, startled.
“I always messaged her on w******p. She gave me that number, though I never actually called. Must’ve given me the wrong digits.” Grace shrugged and quickly opened w******p, only to see she’d been blocked.
Sabrina grabbed her arm. “Mom, that woman played us! She’s a scammer!”
“No way. We got along so well. She really cared about me. Maybe there’s a misunderstanding. I’ll try adding her again.” Grace wasn’t ready to accept she’d been conned.
She hit the “Add Friend” button, only to be met with an alert: account abnormal.
“Don’t tell me her account got hacked?” she mumbled.
Sabrina’s brow furrowed. “Mom, that friend of yours and that so-called master are probably working together. We’ve been totally scammed.”
“I don’t believe it. Maybe her account was really hacked. She doesn’t have my number, so she couldn’t reach me.” Grace stood up. “Let’s go. I’m sure the master knows how to find her.”
They soon arrived at the so-called master’s place. Grace rang the doorbell.
A bespectacled man opened the door, clearly annoyed. “Who are you guys? It’s super late. People trying to sleep here!”
“Didn’t see you last time. You must be the master’s assistant, right? We’re here to see him…” Grace started pushing her way in with Sabrina.
The man stopped them cold. “What are you even talking about? You’re at the wrong house.”

“No way. This is definitely the right place,” Grace insisted, double-checking the door number.
The guy shot her a weird look. “Master who?”
“The fortune teller,” Grace replied.
Just then, a woman with a towel around her head appeared behind him. “He moved out. We’re the new tenants.”
“He’s gone?” Grace’s voice faltered. “Do you know where he went?”
“No idea,” the woman said, drying her hair. “Why were you looking for him?”
Claim
“We paid him a good amount to help with something, but nothing happened. So we just wanted to check in,” Grace explained.
The woman gave her a pitying look. “He screamed scam from a mile away. Better report it to the police.”
Grace stood frozen, murmuring to herself, “He… can’t be a scammer… he wouldn’t.”
“These street charlatans are everywhere. Sure, real masters exist, but they’re rare as unicorns. You don’t just walk right into one,” the woman added.
Grace’s knees buckled, and she nearly collapsed.
At around 4 a.m., Amelia woke up.She didn’t want to disturb Damien’s sleep, but she had to wake him up- things could get tricky if they stayed like this until daylight.
Amelia gently tapped his shoulder. “Hey… Damien, wake up.”
Damien pulled her into his arms, his voice still hoarse with sleep. “Five more minutes.”
“But it’s almost morning…”
“Just don’t wanna let you go.”
Amelia blinked. Was he… talking in his sleep again?
す
After a pause, Damien murmured, “You saw everything last night?”
“Huh?” Amelia looked confused.
“In the bathroom. I wasn’t wearing anything.”
