Reborn to Marry My Best Friend's Uncle novel Chapter 154

The man was clad in wrinkled pajamas, his hair a mess just like Suzanna's. It was obvious that he had just been dragged out of bed, too.

Before Suzanna could get a good look at the man's face, the two bodyguards unceremoniously tossed him inside.

"Hey! Easy now!" William hit the floor hard, looking pathetic as he grimaced in pain.

Suzanna instantly sobered up. She froze in place, her mind racing at this bizarre scene. She wondered what was happening.

William? Bodyguards? Michael?

Why were they here?

William scrambled up from the ground, ignoring the pain. He looked at Suzanna like she was his savior, but spoke to Michael at the door, practically swearing on his life.

"I didn't mess with Christian's wife. I didn't take her out last night, I swear!"

He refused to take the blame for this.

Michael turned a deaf ear to his wailing and coldly waved his hand.

The two bodyguards, having finished their task, immediately turned and grabbed Suzanna by the arms, one on each side, as if apprehending a criminal.

Suzanna was completely confused. She wondered how she had gotten dragged into this mess.

She looked at Michael in astonishment, her voice trembling slightly. "What does Uncle Christian want?"

Michael finally spoke, his tone flat. "Mr. Parker says you lack discipline. Since you abducted his wife late at night, he has arranged ten lessons to train you over the next month. All your credit cards have also been confiscated, and your spending is now restricted."

Suzanna's eyes widened. She simply couldn't believe her ears. She had only taken her best friend out for a drink. She wondered how that counted as abduction.

Plus, she was 25!

"He is so cruel," Suzanna muttered under her breath.

Christian followed her inside and closed the door. Without sparing the bottle a glance, he went straight to her side.

"Do you want to rest a bit more?" he asked in a low voice.

Annie shook her head. "No. Let's go straight to the office."

They tidied up quickly, changed their clothes, and headed out to work together. The car drove smoothly away from the apartment building.

Annie sat in the passenger seat and took out her phone to call Suzanna. The phone rang for a long time before going unanswered and disconnecting automatically. She sent a text message, but it went unanswered as well.

Annie frowned slightly. She was worried that something might have happened, since Suzanna had also drunk a lot last night.

"Why isn't Suzie answering her phone?" she muttered anxiously.

Christian kept his eyes on the road ahead. His fingers on the steering wheel twitched slightly, but his face remained perfectly calm.
