Reborn to Marry My Best Friend's Uncle novel Chapter 183

Annie pulled up outside the club and hastily parked by the curb before hurrying inside.

After giving the private room number, a waiter led her down the hallway. The further they went, the thicker the air became with the sharp, suffocating stench of alcohol.

After the door to the private room swung open, Christian was the only one remaining in the spacious room. He was slumped against a wide leather couch, his eyes closed.

His tie had been yanked loose and hung crookedly around his neck. Two buttons of his shirt were undone, exposing the clean lines of his collarbone.

A faint, abnormal flush colored his sharply sculpted face, and his brows were tightly drawn.

Annie rushed over and crouched in front of him to give him a gentle pat on the cheek. "Christian? Wake up."

His eyelashes fluttered as he slowly opened his eyes. His usually cool, deep gaze was now clouded with moisture, unfocused and hazy.

When he recognized her, something in him visibly relaxed. The crease between his brows eased, and the corners of his lips lifted slightly.

He slurred, "Ann… You're here."

Annie's heart softened, and her voice turned gentler. "I'm here. Let's go home."

She moved to steady him, and he leaned into her without resistance, letting most of his weight rest on her.

That was when she realized how tall and solid he was, far heavier than she had ever expected. She staggered and nearly lost her balance.

After considerable effort, she managed to haul him off the couch. They had barely taken two steps forward when something tripped her.

"Ah!" she cried out as she lost her footing. Both of them ended up crashing heavily onto the plush carpet, and to make matters worse, she ended up beneath him.

As Christian leaned over her, his breath fanned against her neck. It was warm, tinged with alcohol, and burning hot enough to make her skin prickle.

It was such an intimate, ambiguous position that Annie's heart skipped a beat. The air between them turned dangerously charged.

She struggled to push him away, but her hands landed on his scalding hot skin.

"I'm sorry. I—"

She was about to apologize when her words were cut off by soft, burning pressure on her lips. Christian was kissing her.
