Christian grabbed his car keys and charged out without uttering a single word.
Suzanna rushed after him, panic written all over her face.
They sped the whole way.
Half an hour later, the car stopped outside the Frost residence.
Before the car had even come to a stop, Christian shoved the door open and strode straight toward the iron gate.
The villa door opened.
Sean stood there in loungewear, a glass of red wine in hand. When he saw Christian at the gate, he instantly feigned surprise.
Christian stepped up and demanded, "Where is she?"
Sean tipped his glass slightly.
A sick kind of satisfaction rose in Sean's chest as he watched Christian on the verge of losing control.
So, even the untouchable CEO of Parker Group could fall apart over a woman.
"I don't know what you're talking about." Sean took a slow sip of his wine, looking calm and composed.
Christian's hand tightened around the bars.
Suzanna finally caught up, breathless, bracing one hand against the doorframe. Her eyes were blazing as she glared at Sean.
"Cut the act, Sean! The cameras caught it! Your car was near the Steward residence right before Annie went missing! Why were you there?"
Sean didn't flinch at Suzanna's accusations. He'd already prepared his story.
He set his glass down and spread his hands, his tone even carrying a hint of grievance.
"I called Annie and told her that I wanted to visit Irene. It's been a long time since I've seen her."
He paused, then flicked a glance at Christian, as if to make sure he had heard every single word.
"But I waited in the alley for a long time, and she never showed up. I figured that something must have come up, so I left."
At the moment, finding Annie was the only thing that mattered.
Christian looked at Sean for a long moment. His gaze was cold and lethal, as if he were already looking at a corpse.
Then, Christian turned and strode back to the car without saying another word.
Suzanna froze for a moment, then hurried after him, not bothering to curse Sean again.
She asked, "Uncle Chris, where are we going?"
"Home."
Sean stood in the doorway and watched the black Bentley tear off into the night. The smile on his face slowly stiffened, and his hand at his side clenched into a fist.
He couldn't believe that Christian had just left like that.
Sean had expected Christian to break down and lose control, but it didn't happen.
Damn it!
