Reborn to Marry My Best Friend's Uncle novel Chapter 211

Annie didn't know how much time had passed before she forced her eyes open.

Above her, a damp, stained concrete ceiling loomed.

She was lying on a cold wooden plank bed. Her wrists and ankles weren't tied, but her body felt limp and heavy from whatever was still in her system.

Where was she?

She struggled to sit up as voices outside the door erupted in a noisy burst.

It was a language she couldn't understand at all. It sounded strange, harsh, and rough.

This wasn't her country.

Then, it hit her.

Sean was behind this! He'd forced her back to the Steward residence and had her taken.

He was insane!

Had he brought her overseas? What was he trying to do?

Just then, the old wooden door creaked open.

A short, stocky man came in carrying a tray. On it sat a bowl of gray mush that looked completely unappetizing, with a bottle of water.

When he saw her awake, a flicker of surprise crossed his eyes. However, he didn't say a single word.

He walked over, set the tray down hard on a broken wooden crate beside the bed, and turned to leave.

"Wait!" Annie called out. "Where am I? Who are you?"

The man acted like he hadn't heard her. He walked out without looking back and locked the door from the outside.

Annie's heart sank. She looked at the bowl, her stomach twisting with nausea. She couldn't bring herself to take a bite.

But she couldn't just sit here and wait either. She had to stay calm and save her energy.

No matter what Sean was planning, she couldn't let him win.

Not long after, the lock clicked again.

This time, the door was shoved open.

A shirtless man walked in, a fierce wild-dog tattoo etched across his chest. He was tall and bulky, with a brutal face and vicious eyes, radiating a bone-deep sense of danger.
