Reborn to Marry My Best Friend's Uncle novel Chapter 218

An hour later, the brutal fight finally ended.

Dingo was pinned by two soldiers with his arms wrenched behind his back, forced down on his knees in the dirt.

The wound on the back of his head was still bleeding, but there wasn't a trace of fear on his face. Instead, he wore a crazed, cold grin.

Kayden strode up to him, his expression as hard as stone. He barked, "Say it! Where is the woman?"

Dingo lifted his head and spat a mouthful of bloody saliva, his eyes full of contempt.

Just then, the crowd parted to either side.

Christian, dressed in a black trench coat, walked in at an unhurried pace.

When Kayden saw him, his face went pale. He hurried forward and dipped his head. "Mr. Parker."

An officer in charge of the search rushed over and murmured something into Kayden's ear.

Kayden's expression turned even worse. He faced Christian again, his voice trembling. "Mr. Parker... We searched the entire camp. We didn't... We didn't find Mrs. Parker."

Christian's gaze moved past everyone and settled on Dingo, who was still on his knees.

Those pitch-black eyes were flat and unreadable, but they made Dingo's stomach tighten for reasons he couldn't name.

So this was Christian—the man said to hold Rangvar's economic lifeline in his hand.

A nasty kind of thrill rose in Dingo's chest.

He wanted to see what it looked like when a man like that broke down for a woman.

Dingo split his mouth into a blood-stained, vicious smile.

"Looking for your woman? You're too late," he said unhurriedly, enjoying watching Christian's face go rigid.

"She was being noisy, so I had her chopped up and fed to the dogs. Whatever bones were left, I dumped in the river. If you hurry, you might still fish a few out—"

Before he could finish speaking, a gunshot cracked through the air, piercing everyone's ears.

A bloody hole appeared between Dingo's brows.

The grin froze on his face. Disbelief flickered in his eyes for a single beat before his body tipped backward and hit the ground.

Blood and brain matter splattered all over the faces of the men beside him.
