Chapter 103
Lucas stood on the street outside the bar. He was about to hail a cab and go settle the score with Sierra when he suddenly remembered that he didn’t even know where she lived.
The moment that thought crossed his mind, a text popped up on his phone.
[Sierra Bell lives in Building 1, unit 1802, Maple Residences, and works at Origin Games.]
Lucas frowned.
[Who are you?]
No answer came.
Whether the message was true or not, he didn’t care. He pulled out what little cash was left in his wallet, stopped a cab, and headed straight for Sierra’s neighborhood.
The longer the ride took, the angrier he became.
What had happened that day replayed clearly in his mind.
If it hadn’t been for that brat, he would never have ended up targeted by John.
The moment he got into the cab, the bar manager reported it to Kenneth. Then, he dutifully informed John in turn and added, ” Lucas just left the bar. He’s probably going to find Sierra.”
“You gave him Sierra’s address?” John asked.
“No. You told me not to,” Kenneth said.
John let out a slow breath. “Good.”
Kenneth added a reminder.
“You’re not sending anyone to keep an eye on him? What if he causes problems for Sierra? What happened last time had already taught him that even if you two were divorced, she wasn’t someone he could lay a finger on. But after washing glasses for a whole week, there’s no guarantee he wouldn’t just go mad.”
John said there was no need and hung up, clearly not interested in talking about it further.
Since John didn’t seem concerned, Kenneth didn’t think too much about it either.
A little after eight that night, Lucas arrived at Sierra’s neighborhood and slipped in behind someone through the gate.
Sierra was listening to Tommy chatter about something funny that had happened at school when the doorbell rang. She stood up to answer it and froze the instant she saw who was outside.
Almost on reflex, she tried to slam the door shut.
“Seeing me makes you miserable?” Lucas placed his hand against the door and forced his way in despite her resistance. “You really think this shabby place is worth hiding?”
Unable to block him, Sierra had no choice but to ask, “What are you doing here?”
“I came to see my daughter.” Lucas entered the room confidently, scanning the place after he got in. “Is there a problem?”
Sierra followed him.
Tommy heard the noise and came out. When he saw Lucas, he instinctively looked up at his mother, his eyes full of confusion.”

Mommy, who’s this?”
“He’s your grandfather,” Sierra said, having no intention of letting her son spend time with Lucas. “Go back to your room. I
need to talk to him.”
Tommy could read the room and understood that his mother and grandfather didn’t get along, but he didn’t ask. Out of politeness, he called, “Grandpa.”
Lucas hadn’t expected that.
In some ways, he wasn’t really the boy’s grandfather.
Tommy didn’t linger. After greeting Lucas, he went back to his room just as Sierra told him to.
“How heartless can John be?” Lucas commented as he sat down on the sofa. Once Tommy’s door had closed, he raised his eyes at Sierra. “He actually didn’t mind letting his own son live out here and suffer with you.”
Sierra couldn’t be bothered to respond. “Why are you here?”
“Or is that boy not actually his?” Lucas didn’t answer her and instead threw out the question. He really was curious.
Sierra ignored his bizarre accusations. Since the company’s bankruptcy, Lucas was no longer the kind, gentle father he once was.
Lucas stopped beating around the bush and made his demand clear. “My purpose today is very simple. Call John and tell him to cancel the money I owe from that day.”
Sierra wasn’t surprised by his debt at all. “We’re already divorced.”
“I’m not asking for your opinion.” A trace of malice flashed in Lucas’s eyes. “If you don’t call him, I don’t mind making a scene at your company. You work at Origin Games, don’t you?”
