“He refused,” Sierra said to Lucas.
“If he doesn’t agree to it, can’t you try saying a few more nice words!” Lucas yelled angrily. “Ask him properly! Better your attitude!”
“You can beg him yourself. This has nothing to do with me,” Sierra said. She was fed up with all of this.
Lucas’s facial expression became dark. “Sierra Bell!”
She ignored him. During the call, she had already figured things out.
“If you don’t settle this for me tonight, I’ll keep you all up and smash everything in this place!” Lucas threatened. “I’ll tear your whole apartment apart!”
“Go ahead.” Sierra felt exhausted.
Lucas grabbed the cup beside him, wanting to smash it.
But before he could, Sierra said, “A reminder. This is an apartment building, not a villa. If you start breaking things, the neighbors downstairs will hear you.”
“So what?!” Lucas was filled with rage.
“If the noise gets too loud, they’ll call management. If the management can’t calm you down, they’ll call the police.” Sierra looked at Lucas in his eyes. “I’m not the one smashing things. I’m not the one the police will drag out.”
The words left Lucas frozen where he stood.
Sierra went on, “If you want to make a scene at my company, go ahead. I don’t care about getting humiliated like that. I wonder if you will, though.”
One sentence was enough to ruin all his plans.
Lucas had thought that as long as he was ruthless enough, Sierra would have to give him some money even if John refused to pay. But now, his options were either to get dragged away by the cops or lose all dignity.
“What if I kidnap you and that kid in there?” Lucas said. He suddenly grew vicious, ready to choose the option he didn’t want to take. “I don’t believe John would just sit back and watch!”
Sierra stared at him calmly.
She had expected him to pull all kinds of shameless tricks, but she hadn’t expected something this heartless.
“I don’t know if John would sit back and watch. With what he could do, you’d disappear and probably lose a hand or a leg if you really kidnapped Sierra and Tommy.”
Nicholas’s voice arrived before the man himself.
Sierra and Lucas both turned.
Nicholas walked in, dressed in something loud and flashy. Behind him was Holly, cool and sharp
Holly!
Sierra’s eyes lit up at once.
“Nicholas Young,” Lucas said, then his gaze slid to Holly. “Holly Sanders.”
“You asked me to pick Tommy up because your dad is here giving you trouble, didn’t you?” Nicholas didn’t bother with the older man and went straight to the point.

Sierra nodded.
Nicholas could somewhat fight. Meanwhile, Holly could easily flatten Nicholas. With the two of them here, Sierra and Holly were no longer in danger.
“Out of respect for your age, I won’t say anything that crosses the line,” Nicholas said, stepping in front of Sierra and Tommy.‘ Are you going to leave on your own? Or do I have to ask someone downstairs to come up and escort you?”
Holly glanced sideways at Nicholas. “I didn’t know you had people waiting downstairs?”
