Chapter 115
When Holly came downstairs, Jason kept giving her looks, telling her to stay in her room.
However, Holly was born with a rebellious spirit. She wouldn’t be her if she acted so obediently. She sat down right beside Jason, and faced John and Pamela across the coffee table.
“Holly,” Pamela said in a deliberately sweet tone. “No, I should call you sister now. Back in college, Sierra always talked about you. She said you were loyal and her best friend.”
“I’m not related to the daughter of a homewrecker.” Holly picked up an apple and took a bite.
Pamela’s expression changed at once. She wasn’t expecting Holly to be this blunt in front of John.
“Genes really are something.” Holly took another bite, crossing one leg over the other in a relaxed manner. “Your mom’s a homewrecker, and you’re a homewrecker too. You’re definitely from the same family.”
“I’m now your…” Pamela started, but she didn’t have a chance to finish when Holly simply shifted her eyes to her own father.
Holly didn’t bother wasting time.
“And where there’s a homewrecker, there’s always a scumbag. Good thing Mom’s genes are strong, and I didn’t inherit your
defective ones.”
Jason went silent. Did she have to drag him into it?
“Do you not like me, Holly?” Pamela looked at Holly with a wounded expression.
Holly looked honestly surprised. “Anyone with a pair of functional eyes can see I don’t like you. Not only is your character rotten, but your eyes are also blinded.”
A flash of malice passed through Pamela’s eyes. She forced it down and bit her lip, then pulled at John’s. sleeve.
Holly caught the movement and almost spit out the apple she had just swallowed.
“You’ve finished recognizing your father and are done with the family reunion.” She tossed the apple core into the trash. “Isn’t it time for both of you to get lost?”
“Holly.” Jason lowered his voice in warning.
She ignored him. She was in a bad mood and saw no reason to hold back.
“Does Ms. Holly enjoy getting thrown out?” John spoke at last, his fitted black suit made him look even colder, and his dark eyes held a chill.
“My daughter is still young,” Jason said as he forced a smile, not wanting to offend John. “Please don’t take her words to heart, Mr. Henderson.”
John pressed his lips and stayed quiet, but the pressure from him made the atmosphere teel heavy.
Jason pulled Holly’s arm. “Apologize to Mr. Henderson.”
“Why should I?” Holly didn’t believe John would really kill her. As long as she was alive, nothing else mattered.
“My little princess, please. You know exactly what Mr. Henderson can do,” Jason lowered his voice to her ear, hoping she would see sense. “If you really make him angry, have you thought about the consequences?”
Holly turned her head away, clearly refusing.
Jason pulled her sleeve again. “Come on. Don’t make things harder for yourself in the future.”
“If Mom were here, she’d never let me apologize,” Holly said, her tone firm.
