After hearing what Pamela had to say, Holly’s temper immediately flared up.
John’s gaze swept over her once and then moved away. On a personal level, since Holly was Sierra’s best friend, he didn’t want to push things too far.
“Alright, we’ll do it your way,” he said.
Pamela froze.
Before, when Sierra had come to apologize, Pamela had stood by trying her best to persuade John, but he hadn’t moved at all. He had even told her that Sierra’s feelings weren’t something he cared about, and that all he cared about was the fact that Sierra
had hurt her.
But now…
Holly took one look at Pamela’s expression and knew what was running through her mind.
This woman had only intended to act like a saint and present herself as a good person, yet she was surprised that John actually went along with her.
Holly’s bad mood vanished the moment she saw Pamela’s face twisted. She instantly felt much better.
“Thank you, John.” Pamela forced a smile.
“What do you plan to do about Pamela, Mr. Sanders?” John brought the topic back.
Jason hesitated. “Getting her registered will be difficult. The real head of our household is Holly’s mother. She’ll never let an illegitimate daughter enter the Sanders family.”
John lifted his eyes slightly. He hadn’t expected that answer.
Jason, who was always good at making promises, added, “But don’t worry. I’ll think of some kind of compromise as soon as possible.”
John hummed in acknowledgement and apologized for the disturbance. Then, he stood up and left with Pamela.
As they were leaving, Pamela looked back at Jason with a complicated expression, clearly reluctant to go. As if she wanted to disgust Holly on purpose, she looked at Mr. Sanders when she stood up and asked, “Dad, can you give me a hug?”
Holly’s lips twitched. She gave Jason a long, hard look, her message clear.
Try hugging that woman and see what happens.
Jason fell silent for a moment, then forced a laugh. “You and I both have partners. It wouldn’t be right for us to act so close. People outside will get the wrong idea if they see it.”
Pamela wanted to argue, but she was afraid john would care about that. After all, she and Jason had only met today.
Jason took the chance to say, “Take care, Mr. Henderson.”
John said nothing more and left with Pamela.
As soon as the two of them stepped out, Jason turned to Holly with a helpless look. “Why did you deliberately say those things just now? You were just trying to anger him, weren’t you?”
“Don’t talk to me, you scum,” Holly said, still a little angry.
Jason tried to explain, “Pamela was an accident.”
Holly walked upstairs. “Save that for Mom. She has probably found out by now.”

Hearing that, Jason was petrified.
Upstairs, Holly told Sierra what had happened just now.
When Sierra heard about the lines that could so easily set John off, she broke into a cold sweat for Holly. Still, she was glad John didn’t make things difficult for her afterward.
As they talked, Holly’s tone turned serious all of a sudden. “Sierra.”
“Yeah?”
Holly had been in business long enough to see some things clearly.
“From what we saw today, John’s feelings for Pamela are definitely not as deep as the way he feels about you. If he realizes that he was wrong one day and comes to apologize to you and then ask for your forgiveness, would you forgive him?”
No.
That was Sierra’s first reaction.
However, no one could give a final answer to a lot of things before they crossed that bridge.
“Maybe I will, maybe I won’t.” She thought it through before responding. “But no matter how it goes, I’ll never stay with him ever again.”
If she forgave him, it would be for the sake of the five good years she was with him. It was a way to let him go, as well as herself.
If she didn’t forgive him, it would be to keep the good and the bad sides separate.
