Chapter 118
“Up to you,” John said to Pamela; he clearly had no interest in this.
Pamela double–checked. “Then, I’m going now?”
“Yeah.”
John might be working at Origin Games now, but he still had to handle things at Henderson Group. Robin could manage everything here just fine.
Still… John planned to stay a while longer.
Around half past ten, Pamela came back with cakes and coffee. She greeted everyone with an easy smile and seemed very approachable.
“Thank you, Ms. Sanders.”

“I should be thanking all of you. I’m new here, and there’s a lot I need to learn from you. If I do anything wrong, please tell me,” Pamela said as she passed the cakes and coffee.
Everyone started to like her more on the spot. People who had skipped breakfast were hungry, and those who had eaten were suddenly a little hungry again.
“Sierra, this is for you.” Pamela stopped in front of Sierra, voice soft. “I know you don’t like chocolate, so I made sure to save you a cake without it.”
As she said that, she set the cake box and coffee cup down in front of Sierra.
Her familiar tone and thoughtful words drew the attention of the people nearby.
“Sierra, do you know Ms. Sanders?”
“Did you two work together before?”
Colleagues took the chance to gossip while they had a break.
Sierra looked at Pamela’s smiling face, and she answered coolly, “No, I don’t.”
Sometimes, Sierra almost admired how thick Pamela’s skin was. How was she bold enough to talk to Sierra like this in front of everyone? Was she really not afraid Sierra would call her out as a homewrecker? Or did she just feel untouchable with John backing her?
Everyone fell silent.
They could sense the spark in the air between the two of them.
“Alright, alright. If you say you don’t know me, then you don’t,” Pamela said in a tender tone, making herself sound like the gentle and considerate one. “We can meet properly all over again when you feel like it.”
Sierra stopped looking at Pamela and picked up her stylus to draw.
Pamela didn’t feel awkward at all. She pushed the coffee and cake a little closer. “Remember to eat.”
Just looking at the things made Sierra feel sick. “Take them away.”
“You’re still as proud as ever. I’ll get going. Remember to eat,” Pamela sald on purpose, choosing words that could give others the wrong idea.
As she left, she waved at the others again.
Sierra picked the cake and coffee, ready to throw them into the trash. Then Jenny, who sat beside her, pressed a hand down on

hers.
Sierra frowned. “What are you doing?”
Jenny’s expression was as calm as ever. Her voice was so low that only the two of them could hear. “Work first.”
Sierra’s eyes showed a flash of confusion. She didn’t understand why Jenny stopped her.
