“I know,” John said to Kenneth casually.
Kenneth couldn’t follow John’s train of thought. For the first time, he felt his own mind lagging.
“If you know that, why are you still letting her go up against Sierra? Aren’t you concerned that Sierra will be badly harmed?”
John didn’t answer.
To him, regardless of how hurt she felt, it was her decision.
Kenneth was genuinely looking out for John. “Listen to me. Don’t use this kind of method to keep Sierra by your side. With how stubborn she is, she won’t act how you expect her to.”
John raised his eyes and looked at Kenneth.
Kenneth straightened his back. “You can stare at me all you want. I still stand by what I said.”
John played with his phone in his hand. “What exactly do you have to prove that you’re right and I’m wrong?”
Kenneth was stunned.
Proof?
“You’ve never been in a relationship, and you’ve never spent much time around women,” John said, cutting straight to the point. “Meanwhile, I’ve lived with Sierra for five full years.”
Kenneth suddenly had no words. He had tried to talk John around, but then he remembered that everyone was different.
What he had just said was only from his personal perspective. What if Sierra really did respond to John’s way of doing things? John, who had spent five years with her, should understand her more than an outsider who had only met her a few times.
“But…” After thinking about it over and over again, Kenneth found only one thing he could hold on to. “No one likes being targeted by a rival.”
John’s gaze slowly narrowed.
Kenneth stayed quiet and didn’t interrupt.
After a long time, John seemed to think of something and turned his head slightly. “Do you know if any cocktail parties or banquets are coming up?”
“No.” Kenneth thought he was acting strangely. “Why are you asking that?”
John rubbed the edge of his phone with his hand.
“I thought you never cared about that sort of thing,” Kenneth continued.
John recalled that information from a file he had skimmed earlier. “Isn’t Origin Games‘ tenth anniversary next Wednesday?”
Kenneth remembered it clearly. “That’s right.”
John then said, “Then why not hold an event?”
Kenneth fell silent. Then, he reminded Jolin carefully, “They may be delighted to have you as CEO, but this is their own internal affair. On top of that, a tenth anniversary party could burn through a lot of money.”
However, John didn’t care in the slightest. For him, money was just a series of digits. If he wanted more, he could always create
more.

He found a number in his phone and dialed it, clearly having already made up his mind.
“Mr. Henderson.” Morgan’s tone toward him was especially respectful.
John was direct. “How are you planning to handle Origin Games‘ tenth anniversary?”
Morgan was stunned for a moment, then instantly said, “We’ll do it your way.”
“Next Wednesday, I want every employee in the company to attend,” John said.
Morgan gritted his teeth and agreed. “Alright.”
While he might lose some money organizing such a party, the profit John could bring them was far higher. Even if John stopped serving as CEO one day, the fact that he had once led Origin Games would still be worth something.
