Chapter 131
John met his parents‘ eyes.
“I’m doing what the CEO of Henderson Group should do.”
That was a statement, and not a question.
However, Danny blurted out without thinking, “Whatever it is, it’s not what you’re doing right now!”
John didn’t look at Danny again and simply walked away.
He had made that phone call only because he was worried that Sierra wouldn’t be able to handle them on her own.
John knew his parents too well. If he didn’t step in, they would use every means they had to force Sierra to hand over Tommy’s custody.
When it came to his people, it wasn’t his parents‘ place to bark out orders.
“John! Stop right there! Do you hear me talking to you?!”
Danny’s furious shouts sounded behind John. However, as two bodyguards purposefully blocked him and pushed him toward the exit, all he could do was yell in anger.
John ignored Danny and walked back to the CEO’s office, his steps heavy.
“There’s more than one heir in the Henderson family!” Danny yelled, his voice growing fainter as he was dragged farther away. “If you can’t do your job as CEO, I’ll let Solomon take your place!”
“Stop it already,” Agnes said, her heart sinking.
“He’s doing all this for a woman, and I can’t even yell at him?” It was very difficult for Danny to calm down once he had already exploded. “He doesn’t just represent himself, but also the Henderson Group!”
Agnes said nothing more.
A short while later, the two of them stumbled out of Henderson Group in a rough state.
Danny was still seething. As soon as he got in the car, he immediately gave the driver an address. “Go to Origin Games.”
“John isn’t joking,” Agnes said calmly, reminding him. “What happened back then is already straining our relationship. If you go after Sierra now, he might really stop treating you as his father.”
“You think I’m afraid of him?” Danny forced himself to sound tough.
Agnes gave him a side eye. “Don’t forget how Henderson Group ended up in his hands.”
Danny froze for a moment as a memory came to mind. His expression slowly grew more serious, and in the end, he fell silent.
“Just give it time,” Agnes said after checking the date. “If they get divorced and he still acts like this, we’ll think of something
else.”
Sierra had no idea she had just dodged another round of trouble.
That night, after telling Tommy a story and lulling him to sleep, she picked up her phone and sent Jubilee a message.
[Jubilee, are you asleep yet?]
Not even two seconds later, a request for a video call popped up.
“What’s wrong, honey?” Jubilee yawned, the concern in her voice coming out without any thought.

In the video, Jubilee was wearing a sexy nightgown. She was almost fifty, but she looked as well kept as a woman in her mid- thirties. When she looked at someone, her eyes were sensual and seductive.
Even though Sierra had seen Jubilee many times before, she still felt a little dazzled.
“You’re just as young and beautiful as ever,” Sierra said from the heart.
“Stop right there.” Jubilee propped her phone up on the edge of the sink and started on her skin care routine. “Every time you use that tone with me, I feel ten years older.”
Sierra fell silent.
As Jubilee massaged her face, she said, “Alright, tell me what you need.”
“Were you and my mom really raised together in the orphanage?” Sierra stared at Jubilee on the screen, watching every inch of her for the slightest reaction.
Jubilee paused. She had never expected Sierra to ask about this again after so many years.
Sierra noticed it. “So you weren’t, right?”
“No.” Jubilee quickly recovered and continued her skincare in a leisurely way. “Your mom and I met as kids at the orphanage. Director Clark was a mom to both of us. When you were little, we took you to see her, remember?”
“Besides you, did my mom have any other friends or relatives?” Sierra asked one question at a time.
