Chapter 137
Sierra never expected Tommy to say something like that. Maybe she had been in touch with Nicholas too often, and he had gotten the wrong idea that she was looking for a new husband?
Fortunately, everyone treated it as a joke. It ended with a few casual teasing remarks.
Nicholas steered the conversation about Holly. “Since when did Pamela become your sister?”
“She’s my dad’s illegitimate daughter,” Holly said, sounding very casual about it. “We just acknowledged her a few days ago.”
“Is that dramatic?” Nicholas was stunned.
Holly took a sip of her drink.
Before Pamela showed up, she had never imagined something this dramatic would happen. Her half–sister was stealing her best friend’s husband, then showed up at her house with that same man.
“Do you know about it?” Nicholas looked over at Sierra, who was staring at her phone.
“Huh?” Sierra blinked.
Nicholas noticed how distracted she was. “What’s going on with you? That look on your face…”
He deliberately dragged out the last word.
“It’s nothing.” Sierra set her phone down and picked up where they had left off. “I found out about Holly’s situation on that day itself. It really is that dramatic.”
Holly stared at her from across the table. “You’re acting weird.”
Nicholas agreed. “Something’s off.”
Holly held out one hand. “Hand over your phone.”
Nicholas copied her movement. “Hand it over.”
“What are you? A recorder?” Holly shot back at Nicholas. “You just repeat whatever I say. If your brain is that fried, give it to me so I can donate it.”
“Look at her,” Nicholas complained to Sierra. “All she ever does is yell at me.”
“So what? Sierra’s on my side,” Holly said as she started with Nicholas again. “Even if I were to bury you, she’d be passing me the shovel.”
Sierra quietly drank her glass of water and stayed out of their war. With her free hand, she quickly deleted the message John had just sent her.
While Holly and Nicholas were bickering, John had texted to say that giving her custody of Tommy didn’t mean she could let outsiders pick him up.
The outsider he meant was Holly,
She didn’t reply.
To Sierra, Holly was no different from a real sister. If Holly was an outsider, then what was the difference between that and John telling the butler to pick Tommy up because he was so busy with work?
In the middle of the bickering, Nicholas finally remembered what they were supposed to be doing. “Aren’t we getting off topic? We were talking about how weird you looked holding your phone just now.”
“Did John text you?” Holly asked.

“No, it’s from the company,” Sierra answered, not wanting them to get annoyed by it too. “I have to go north of the city for a two -day team–building on Monday and Tuesday.”
A round trip would take four to five hours, so it really was quite far.
Holly spoke without thinking. “It’s alright, I’ll take care of Tommy.”
