For Sierra, Solomon was someone really hard to figure out.
After going back in to say goodbye to Eagon, Sierra left with Tommy, pushing everything Solomon had just said to the back of her mind for the moment.
Watching their backs as they walked away, Eagon asked Solomon, “Why did you suddenly say all that to her?”
“John hasn’t been in a good state these last couple of days.” Solomon’s eyes behind the lenses showed a meaningful glint. “As his brother, I need to give him a little help.”
A chill ran up Eagon’s spine.
That kind of help he mentioned was definitely not help in the usual sense.
“Sierra might not follow the path you have mapped out in your head,” he reminded Solomon.
Eagon hadn’t spent much time with Sierra, but he had a rough sense of her personality.
“With how things are between her and John, she definitely won’t ask him about anything.”
“She doesn’t need to ask,” Solomon said.
Eagon paused. “What?”
“I just need to plant the idea in her subconscious,” Solomon said. His expression was impossible to read. “When the time comes, things will naturally play out the way they should.”
“Aren’t you afraid John will come after you for this?”
Eagon kept feeling that what Solomon was doing was dangerous. No matter how serious the conflicts between the siblings were, none of them had ever dragged outsiders into it.
To pull Sierra into all of this right now…
It felt like a bit much.
Solomon stayed completely calm. “How would he get back at me? I’m not like him. I don’t have a weak spot.”
“What about the one you keep at home?” Eagon said, his meaning obvious.
The expression in Solomon’s eyes didn’t change; his face remained blank. “She’s just a woman. I can walk away whenever I want.”
Eagon opened his mouth, but he didn’t say anything in the end.
For the past two years, he had seen everything between Solomon and that woman. As Solomon’s best friend, Eagon knew just how much Solomon cared about her. Sometjines, he even wished Solomon could be more straightforward like John.
If you like someone, then just admit it openly.
The two brothers were the complete opposite in that regard.
John had no idea Sierra had just met with Solomon again.

Chapter 154

At noon, after leaving the hospital, he went back to 1801 at Maple Residences.
He took a shower to wash away the fatigue in his body, dried his hair, then pulled out a key and went next door, opening the door to Sierra’s place. °
Sierra and Tommy had just left Eagon’s residence at around the same time. The moment they got into the car and headed for the hospital, someone passed the news.
“Robin, the madam and the young master are on their way to the hospital.”
Sierra had no idea she was being watched, and she didn’t know that someone had already entered her home. She stayed at the hospital for almost two hours before leaving.
“You’re not planning to stay a little longer?” Dr. Smith appeared suddenly, his tone as gentle as ever.
“No.” Sierra was still holding Tommy’s hand. “I’ll come back tomorrow at noon.”
Dr. Smith cleared his throat. “Do you want me to talk about your mother’s condition?”
Sierra looked serious. “Has something changed?”
Dr. Smith felt a little guilty. “No. It’s the same as before.”
Sierra looked at him, confused.
Dr. Smith felt extremely uneasy at the way Sierra looked at him, his mood growing heavier by the second. He really didn’t understand why Robin had suddenly told him to stall Sierra and keep her from going home too early.
“Is my mom’s condition getting worse?” Sierra had noticed he was acting strange, but if he wouldn’t say anything, she couldn’t simply guess the reason why.
. “No.” Dr. Smith’s mind raced, and he finally came up with a halfway reasonable excuse. “I just thought if you
stayed here a bit longer, you might run into that man from the surveillance footage.”
