Chapter 166
With that, Randy drank all the wine in his glass in front of everyone.
Leona praised him slightly. “That’s what I’m talking about, Randy!”
The tense atmosphere finally broke. The small clash between Randy and Jenny vanished as if it had never happened.
“Yeah, right. One glass and suddenly you’re praising me,” Randy said.
“I’m praising you because you’re willing to face your own mistakes and fix them,” Leona said bluntly. She lifted her glass and clinked it against his. “Just for that, you deserve a toast from me.”
The atmosphere warmed up again.

Seeing so many people were willing to speak up for her, Sierra’s heart was filled with a mix of emotions.
In that moment, Sierra realized it. After a childhood of being protected and loved, as well as years under John’s careful protection, she was miles behind people like Leona when it came to handling others and navigating social situations.
There was still so much she needed to learn.
“Don’t let what Randy said bother you,” Leona whispered to Sierra after finishing a round of drinks with the others. She leaned closer to Sierra and said, “That’s just how he is. He has problems keeping his mouth shut.”
“Thank you,” Sierra said, and she meant it.
“What for?” Leona clink d her glass lightly against Sierra’s glass of juice, her eyes bright as she smiled. “When we girls are out in the worl it’s only natural that we help each other. Isn’t that right?”
Sierra knew nothing was ever “natural“.
Leona had helped her only because Leona herself was gentle, kind, and had a strong sense of justice.
Dinner went on for more than an hour before it finally ended. Sierra, Jenny, and a few others left the table early.
In the end, only Randy and a few of the men stayed behind drinking. At first, they talked about the project schedule. Before long, the topic shifted back to Sierra.
“If you ask me, Mr. Henderson came here today just for Sierra. He probably saw how pretty she is and wants to sleep with her,” Randy said with a red face. He was clearly drunk.
One of the male colleagues then said, “Sierra really does look very pretty.”
“She acts like she doesn’t like me bringing this up, but who knows what she’s really thinking.” Randy was drunk and started yapping again. “For all we know, she’s already plotting how to get close to him!”
“Isn’t Mr. Henderson married?” someone asked.
“So what?” Randy said, as if it were the most natural thing in the world. “With his status and money, having a few women on the side is nothing unusual. If you were that rich, would you really spend your whole life looking at just your wife at home?”
Some said absolutely not. If they had that kind of money, they would play around more than anyone.
Others insisted they wouldn’t.

But people with different values couldn’t fit together. The ones who said they would stay loyal were immediately teased by Randy and the rest of the men.
“People who say that are just cowards! We’ll only know who you really are once you’re really that rich too.”
Sierra heard every word clearly.
She knew everyone had a different personality. However, seeing these men talk like this in private despite looking so proper on the surface… It would have been a lie to say she felt nothing.
She had seen spoiled rich boys play around since she was young, but they were doing it brazenly. Anyone who dealt with them knew they were just messing around and wouldn’t take it seriously.
But for Randy and the others? They were only polite on the surface. Underneath, their thoughts were rotten.
“Ignore them.” Jenny came downstairs for water and saw Sierra standing there, having heard everything. “They are just passersby in your life. It’s not worth it to let them ruin your mood.”
Sierra nodded. “Thank you for today.”
