Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 183

Chapter 183

Go ahead.Sierra suddenly sounded very calm as she looked at Zane in front of her.

Zane paused.

What?He stared at her, suspicious. Don’t think I won’t.

If you’re brave enough to do it. Why are you still standing here?Sierra watched his reaction and felt even more certain of the theory in her mind.

Zane gritted his teeth.

If John hadn’t warned everyone in their circle that no one was allowed to reveal his relationship with Sierra to anyone at Origin Games without his permission, Zane would have already spilled everything.

This womanShe was still as infuriating as she had been back then!

If you go tell them, Holly will have her fist in your face the second you finish,Sierra said.

She guessed that John must have given very clear directives regarding their relationship.

Otherwise, with Zane’s annoying personality, he would have mockingly called her Mrs. Henderson just like in the

past.

Don’t push it,Zane said, his earlier composure gone. Holly isn’t here. Even if I do something to you, she won’t be able to save you.

You’re right, of course.Sierra nodded, agreeing with him.

That only made Zane grow even angrier. Yet, there was really nothing he could do to Sierra.

Even if John wasn’t openly protecting her now, Sierra still had Holly and Nicholas backing her. Zane couldn’t handle either of them easily.

I’m not sure what you like to drink, so I brought a bit of everything.Randy suddenly walked over with a few staff members, carrying fine wine, coffee, and juice. Is there anything else I can help you with?

Sierra’s brow furrowed.

Zane straightened his clothes, as if trying to calm down.

You just said she’s your department’s lead illustrator?he asked.

He decided to take his revenge in another way.

As long as the person in front of him wasn’t John, the worst that could happen was that he had to fight with everything he had.

Randy paused. Yes, she is.

So Mr. Hawthorne didn’t know her?

Her manners are really lacking when it comes to taking care of guests,Zane voiced his displeasure. One moment she says I’m rich and know nothing about real life, the next she mocks my looks and my clothes.

Sierra blinked.

Zane kept going. When I asked her to apologize, she looked like she didn’t want to.

She’s new and doesn’t understand how things work yet. I’ll apologize for her,Randy said with a smile. I’ll give her a proper scolding later. Please don’t let this ruin your mood, sir.

I want her to apologize to me now.Zane just wanted Sierra to bow her head. He had been getting picked on by her and Holly since they were little. If she doesn’t, then I’m not sure if your anniversary celebration can go smoothly.

Randy’s heart sank.

This wasn’t the time to show off in front of anyone. He gave Sierra a look.

Apologize to Mr. Hawthorne.

I didn’t say any of that.Sierra wouldn’t admit to something she had not done.

Whether you did or not isn’t important.Randy stood at her side, speaking under his breath. What matters is that Mr. Hawthorne says you did. You won’t be able to take the responsibility for interrupting the anniversary party if it comes down to it.

Sierra gritted her teeth.

So, this was what he had been waiting for.

You want an apology? She already had a plan in mind.

Yes,Zane said.

He had no idea that a much bigger trap was waiting for him.

This scene was being watched from the other side of a security camera. In the presidential suite on the twenty- eighth floor, John and Kenneth were sitting on the couch, looking at a laptop linked to the hotel’s security system.

Originally, Kenneth didn’t plan to come. But after thinking it over and realizing he had nothing to do these days, he came along for some fresh tea.

When Zane said those words, the air around Kenneth became even colder.

He reminded John, Didn’t you say you wanted Sierra to live without your protection for a little while and see what it feels like when people make things hard for her?
