Everyone exchanged a look.

Sierra’s competence at work was beyond question. For a moment, every gaze landed on Randy. Everyone realized how easily one comment from another could sway their judgment on Sierra.
“I was just saying whatever came to mind. Why are you taking it so seriously?” Randy said in a huff. He and Jenny had never gotten along. “Besides, I’m just thinking about what’s best for Sierra.”
“Ask the women here. Are you really doing what’s best for her?” Jenny shot back.
She looked at the female colleagues, and they all shook their heads in unison.
Randy swallowed the words that he was going to say.
“No matter who Sierra is, or who greeted her tonight, she’s still just Sierra,” Jenny said, cutting off anyone who would have wanted to muddle the water. “Sierra from Team Eight.”
Sierra had no idea Jenny was doing this much for her. If not for Jenny, all her effort and ability would have been ruined because of one sentence from Randy.
From then on, no one would remember Sierra as the brilliant designer. They would only remember her as some heiress who joined the company to experience working life.
“Here, sit here.” Morgan led her to a seat beside Solomon.
Sierra glanced at the empty seat next to Wendy and instinctively said, “I can sit over there.”
Before she could move, she was already guided into the chair next to Solomon. Pressing lightly on the back of her chair, Morgan lowered his voice and said, “Solomon’s here to support you. Just sit here.”
Sierra fell silent.
Support her for what?
He and John had never gotten along.
She was about to say something when she raised her eyes and noticed that everyone at the table was looking in their direction. Wendy and the others were watching with open curiosity.
Beside her, Solomon sat in a gray suit, his usual warmth carrying an edge of coolness. The silver–rimmed glasses on his nose made him look even more sophisticated.
Leaning back in his chair, he turned his head slightly toward her and called her name. “Sierra.”
“Yeah?” Sierra felt a little unsettled by the way he addressed her.
“Who was giving you trouble just now?” Solomon’s tone was gentle, but there was pressure when his gaze swept over the people at the table. “You can tell me. I’m here to give you support.”
Sierra was taken aback by what he was doing. “No one.”
“Don’t be afraid. I’m here,” Solomon said.
Sierra was quiet for a moment. Then, she chose her words carefully. “I barely know them. It doesn’t even come close to being bullied.”

Hearing that, Wendy and Zane finally let out the breath they had been holding inside. They had only thrown a few light jabs at Sierra, but if Solomon really decided to make an issue out of it, things would end badly for them.
“I heard the heir from the Hawthorne family caused some trouble for you this afternoon.”
When Solomon saw that she wasn’t naming anyone, he simply shifted his gaze straight to Zane.
Zane froze. “No, that’s not true! Why would I cause her any trouble?”
Solomon didn’t answer, and that silence made Zane’s heart race. Cold sweat appeared in his palms as he started to feel regret. He was already questioning why he had ever come tonight at all.
The atmosphere in the private room was starting to freeze.
“Ms. Marshall.” Solomon raised his eyes.
The look behind his glasses made Wendy’s heart skip a beat. He was only politely addressing her, yet a chill ran down her spine. She calmed herself down and looked at him.
Solomon pushed his glasses up with one finger, still speaking in a mild tone. “Did you get Sierra’s clothes wet?”
Under enormous pressure, Wendy admitted it. “Yes.”

“My brother has been a little disorganized lately and has some issues with Sierra,” Solomon went on, moving over each of them in turn, including Liam and Adam, his presence bearing down on them. “But that does not mean any of you can just harass her.”
