Sierra was completely unaware that she and Solomon were being photographed from behind.
As they arrived near the main hall, she turned her head and asked, “You said you had something to talk to me about earlier. What is it?”
“This isn’t the right place. Let’s talk outside for a bit.” Solomon walked forward at an unhurried pace, his gaze drifting toward Jenny’s direction. “Do you want to go over and say something to your colleagues?”
Sierra said she would and then headed that way.
When Jenny saw her coming, she quietly took out her phone and sent a text to a number with no name saved to it.
[Sierra and Solomon had just left the private room. Everything’s fine.]

“Jenny.” Sierra hurried over. “I’ve got something I need to take care of. Is it alright if I leave early?”
“You’re not going to wait for the results?” Cindy asked, sneaking a glance at Solomon standing not far away. Then, she pulled her eyes back in a panic. “Your team’s performance has a very good chance of winning, and you’ll have to go on stage to receive the award if it does.”
Sierra paused.
So much had happened tonight, her head had been full of how to handle all those people. She had practically forgotten about the party and the performances.
“Why don’t you wait a little longer?” Jenny said, remembering John’s instructions and choosing to keep her there.
“I’ll just step outside for ten or twenty minutes,” Sierra said.
Jenny gave it a thought and then nodded. “Alright.”
Sierra then walked away.
People started gossiping again after she left. Everyone was curious about who she really was.
Men like Solomon and John stood at the very top of the business world. For people like them, getting this close to them in real life was unimaginable.
Most of them had barely even seen a clear photo of them online. If someone hadn’t heard Morgan call his name, they would never have guessed that he was the one and only Solomon Henderson everyone talked about.
“Just who is Sierra, really?” Cindy’s eyes followed Sierra and Solomon as they left, lingering a little on Solomon’s tall figure. “She looks pretty close to both Mr. John and Mr. Solomon.”
Jenny stayed silent.
No matter how low–key Sierra tried to be after tonight, everyone would suspect her to be anything but simple.
The heiress on stage had called her a friend.
Morgan had personally invited her into the private room for dinner.
Now, she was walking off with “the” Solomon Henderson.
No one was going to believe that art exhibition story anymore.
Sierra understood that too, but none of this was something she could control. Since that was the case, she could

only let things take their natural course.
“The company event is still ongoing. If you’ve got something to say, let’s say it here.”
Sierra led Solomon into the large garden outside the hotel. Only after she made sure no one else was around did she speak again.
“It’s nothing serious,” Solomon said in his low, steady voice. “I just wanted to ask how you plan to handle things between you and John.”
Sierra didn’t answer him directly. “That’s between him and me.”
Noticing the distance and caution in her tone, Solomon didn’t get angry. “Do you remember what I told you last time we met?”
Sierra raised her eyes.
John’s childhood.
“John is the way he is now partly because of what happened when he was a boy,” Solomon said, a hint of powerlessness in his voice. “Before he met you, he wasn’t happy at all.”
Sierra said nothing.
Even though Solomon had spoken up for her in the private room and treated her gently when they were alone, she still couldn’t bring herself to trust him.
In their five years of marriage, John had warned her more times than she could count to be careful around Solomon. He would never keep reminding her like that if Solomon really was that harmless.
“If it’s possible, I hope the two of you can really sit down and talk,” Solomon said.
Sierra disliked going in circles. With nobody else around, she saw no need to be overly polite with him anymore.
“You two are competitors.”
