Chapter 202
John said nothing. He simply stared at Solomon.
“If you don’t want to talk to me, I’ll be leaving,” Solomon said.
He stood and pushed up his glasses before walking out of the reception room at an unhurried pace. John stayed silent even when Solomon completely vanished from the meeting room.
Kenneth hesitated as he thought over everything that had just happened. “John…”
That photo had hit too hard. He was really afraid that John would be consumed by those memories.
“What do you think Solomon is trying to achieve by doing all this?” John said.
He thought and thought, but none of the answers he came up with felt right.
Kenneth blinked.
There was a trace of doubt inside him. He didn’t expect John to remain so calm even in such a time. In the past, his mindset would already have crumbled.
“Why are you looking at me like that?” John shot him a glance.
“Solomon simply said too much just now,” Kenneth said, not brave enough to bring up the details. He was afraid John was only pretending to hold it together. “Are you really okay?”
“I’m fine,” John said.
Had it happened sooner, his emotions might have been shaken.
But before coming upstairs, he had already asked Sierra about it. Solomon had clearly told her those things and even shown her the photo, yet she didn’t mention a single word.
Despite already hurting Sierra because of his relationship with Pamela, she was still protecting his broken pride and heart.
If Sierra could still do that, what made anyone think John would fall for a trick like that?
“Are you really okay?” Kenneth still was not sure.
John turned his head. His handsome face looked as relaxed and casual as ever. “Yeah.”
Kenneth remained a little doubtful, but he didn’t press further. What mattered was that John was fine.
“When his secretary trapped you here, did you catch anything from what they said?” John still hadn’t figured out why Solomon: had really come, and that left him uneasy.
“No.” Kenneth shook his head. “The three of them kept their mouths shut like tight.”
John’s expression darkened.
Kenneth gave it another thought. “Is there a chance his purpose really is just like what he said? He was sending people to capture me, and setting up that car accident for you was only a smokescreen to throw us off.”
John fell silent, sinking into thought.
It wasn’t impossible, but he still felt it couldn’t be that simple.
Setting aside the fact that Solomon showing up at Origin Games‘ tenth anniversary party would end up in the financial news and reach their parents, just him wanting to stand up for Sierra alone was something he couldn’t hide from the woman he kept at
home.

While their relationship was a little twisted and Solomon had never acknowledged her identity in public, John knew he cared about her.
Stirring up so much trouble to just throw a small obstacle in his way was not Solomon’s style.
“Keep a close eye on Sierra for me in the next few days.” John couldn’t find the trail, so all he could do was stay on guard.
