When John and Kenneth left the meeting room, they saw Solomon talking with Morgan from Origin Games.

John took out his phone and made a call. On the other side, Morgan noticed the call, and his expression changed slightly. He nodded politely to Solomon. “Sorry, I need to take a call.”

“Please do,” Solomon said courteously.

Morgan walked a short distance away before answering. “Mr. Henderson.”

John lowered the phone from his ear and hung up. He turned his eyes away and left with Kenneth, moving out of their sight.

awards.”

“I understand,” Solomon replied with a gentle nod.

Morgan finally let out a small sigh. “How about I arrange a seat for you in the front row?”

“It’s fine,” Solomon refused. “I can just stand at the side.”

“Well…” Morgan hesitated.

“Just stick to your original plan,” Solomon said in a mellow voice. “I might have to leave soon, anyway.”

Since Solomon insisted, Morgan didn’t try to persuade him.

Morgan knew very well that John was the real driving force behind the company. No matter what happened, they had to put John first. If they upset John, they couldn’t tell what would happen next.

About half an hour later, the party reached its climax.

After the usual speeches by the host and company bosses, what was left was the anniversary lucky draw and the awards for the performances from each department.

Leona won a tablet.

Kenneth went on, “I just heard your wife’s act took second place. Are you not going up there to hand her the award?”

Whatever he and Morgan had agreed on was an internal matter. Even if people found out he was working at Origin Games, they would only think he had found a new investment vehicle.

If he went on stage to present an award at the company’s official tenth anniversary party, that would be something else entirely. The old men sitting on the Henderson Group’s board would make a huge fuss.
