“I wanted to check on Mr. Henderson’s injury,” Sierra said to John. She didn’t call Solomon her brother–in–law, instead choosing a more distant form of address. “He was hurt because of me. I have to…”
“I’ll have people take care of his injury,” John said as he glanced at the cut on her ankle, his brows furrowed together as he finished with words meant to draw a clear line. “This is our family matter. You do not need to concern yourself, Ms. Bell.”
He turned and walked away with Kenneth, leaving the hotel.
Sierra stood there for a long time, as if something heavy was crushing her heart.
“There’s nothing more here for now. Go to the hospital on behalf of Origin Games and check on Mr. Solomon’s condition,” Morgan said as he kept his voice low, aware that there were still others on stage. “Tell me if anything happens right away. Once I finish dealing with things here, I’ll go over.”
Sierra agreed with a nod.
Morgan asked his secretary to take Sierra to the hospital.
As she left, the guests who had been frightened by the accident began to whisper among themselves, all of them wondering how this was going to be handled.
“Get me the hotel manager now,” Morgan gave his order at once. “Track down the cause of this accident!”
When Sierra walked out of the hotel, John and Kenneth’s car had just pulled away. She immediately told Morgan’s secretary to
follow them.
Kenneth noticed the car in the rearview mirror and said to John, “It looks like Sierra is behind us.”
John’s gaze became even darker.
She was becoming more and more disobedient.
“If something really happens to Solomon this time, your parents probably won’t spare Sierra,” Kenneth said, still unable to believe what they had just seen. “How could a chandelier suddenly fall like that?”
John’s eyes were eerily calm. “Someone made it fall.”
Kenneth immediately turned to look at him. “What do you mean?”
“I already told Robin to investigate.” John had sent Robin a text the moment he saw Solomon get hit. He refused to believe that
it was a mere coincidence. “We will know the details after he wraps up his investigation.”
Kenneth felt even more confused.
What was the point of putting on a scene like this? There was no benefit to it at all.
By the time they reached the hospital, Solomon had already been taken into surgery. The wound on his head was a long, deep gash, and his back was badly injured as well.
Sierra rushed inside and went straight to Joven as she brushed past John and Kenneth. “How is my brother’s injury? What did the doctor say?”
She knew he was full of schemes and that he must have had a purpose for doing this, but he still got injured because of her.
Because of this, she couldn’t stay calm.
“My boss is…” Joven had just started to speak when John caught Sierra by the wrist and pulled her toward an empty room down
the hall.

There was a loud bang as the door slammed shut behind them.
Worry and anger were in Sierra’s eyes. She disliked how unreasonable John was being again. “What are you doing?”
“I told you to stay out of this,” John said. He did not want Solomon to use her, and he wanted her to be dragged any deeper into the mess even less.
“He got injured trying to save me. Aren’t I supposed to come and visit him?” This time, Sierra didn’t back down and met his eyes head–on. “You said we’re already done, so why are you interfering with me now?”
John pressed her back against the door. “Do you have to upset me on purpose before you are satisfied?”
Sierra turned her face away and said nothing.
She knew reasoning with him would not work.
Looking at how she was having difficulty containing her misery, John forced down his anger and tried to explain. “Something’s wrong with this. He likely arranged for the chandelier to drop.”
Sierra stared at him, stunned.
There was nowhere above the stage where anyone could hide. Everyone would have seen it if something had gone wrong.
How was Solomon supposed to do that?
