John saw the doubt in Sierra’s eyes and took the initiative to explain to her, “If you modified the chandelier ahead of time and installed a special trigger activable with a remote control, it’s easy to cause something like this.”

Sierra believed him, but she really didn’t want to discuss this with him anymore. “Do you have any proof?”

“Robin is looking.”

“Then you don’t have any,” Sierra said on purpose. “Whatever fight you and your brother have going on is your own business. I’m not getting involved with that. But right now, he’s hurt because he saved me, and I don’t want to hear you badmouth him in front of me.”

John’s expression became darker.

Sierra pushed him back a little. “Move. I’m heading out.”

“What if there’s proof?” John asked.

“So what if you have it? Does that clash with the fact he saved me?” Sierra forced everything down inside and met him with the coldest words she could manage.

She had noticed what had been happening recently. She knew John still hadn’t given up on trying to keep both her and Pamela at the same time. She could not accept it and could not understand what was going on in his mind.

Since that was how it was, she might as well use this to shatter the image he had of her.

If she refused to trust him, kept taking Solomon’s side, and kept talking to him with a cold demeanor, he would eventually see she was not the same woman as before.

Then, he would lose the thoughts he had for her.

He would finally treat her as someone unimportant, and she could step out of his world for good.

“Do you really not get it? Or are you just playing dumb?” John stared at her with his deep, black eyes.

Sierra did not answer him head–on. “All I know is that if he had not pushed me away tonight, I would be the one in the operating

room.”

John’s hands tightened slightly at his sides. If Robin already had the evidence, he really wanted to throw it right in her face and let her see what her so–called savior was really like.

“Move,” Sierra repeated.

John pushed down his anger and did not stop her from leaving.

Sierra opened the door and walked out.

The next second, John’s phone started to ring. It was a call from Robin. “Boss.”

“How is it looking?” John walked over to the window with the phone in his hand.

“Nothing. We didn’t find anything. Solomon’s people got there first and cleaned everything up. They didn’t leave anything behind.”

John’s eyes grew even darker.

The more he did, the more it meant he had something to do with this.

“Talk with the hotel manager. He can wipe away the traces, but you can’t wipe people’s memories,” John said.

“Understood.”
