“Why don’t you ask the people who were on stage about how angry Mr. John was when he grabbed Sierra?” Leona said to their colleagues as she stood firmly in front of Sierra, protecting her. “See if you’re still in the mood to gossip after you know everything.”

As soon as she said that, everyone fell quiet.

Gossip was a group sport. But the moment someone stepped in and cut it off, the mood shifted without anyone noticing,

“What are you all doing here?” Randy finally showed up. “Work hours have already started. Why aren’t you at your desk? Slacking off?”

“Nothing much, just talking with Sierra about what happened last night,” Cindy answered smoothly.

She knew Randy was curious about it too, so she might as well say it out loud. If he wanted to hear it, they could use that chance to share some fresh hot tea.

If Randy were the one asked, Leona would not be able to cut them off again.

Sierra frowned. She glanced at Cindy, feeling that Cindy was being a little too obvious.

“If you hadn’t brought it up, I almost forgot,” Randy said as he walked over, his expression turning serious.

A spark of expectation flashed in Cindy’s eyes.

“Management sent out a notice,” Randy said. “No one is allowed to gossip, discuss, or spread anything about what happened at the anniversary party, whether inside or outside the company, in any form at all.”

Everyone stared at him and blinked.

Then, all eyes shifted to Sierra at the same time. Was a notice really necessary for something so minor?

“Especially anything about Mr. John, Mr. Solomon, and the other heirs and heiresses who were there,” Randy added. “If anyone is found to have spread it, they will be called in for a talk.”

“Isn’t this just something minor? Why can’t we talk about it?” Cindy had never imagined this would be the outcome she got after the long wait.

“Who told you these are minor matters?” Randy hissed quickly. “In high society, gossip and rumors like this are taboo. Ever played the game Broken Telephone? You tell one version, and the next person who hears it passes on another version. ”

Nobody asked anything else after that.

Around half–past nine, the notice was sent out again as an official document.

At first, no one really took it seriously. People still gossiped in secret, and someone even posted about it online in a more roundabout way.

Half an hour later, that person was called in for a meeting.

Everyone else was baffled. They hadn’t used the company network, so how had anyone figured out who posted it?

They were never going to get that answer.

They would never know John was the one who had arranged everything behind the scenes, or that the people who got caught were traced using technical services provided by Henderson Group.

After that, every department director repeated the warning to their own teams.

For a time, people stopped talking about it online. The gossip only continued in small whispers at the office, and only around three or four people at a time.
