Everything she had buried in her heart, everything she had wanted to say, spilled out all at once. She did not stop to think whether it would anger him. She only knew that if she didn’t hang on to him now, she would lose him for good.

Pamela let out a quiet, bitter laugh. She should have understood it last time. He was a man without a heart, yet she still kept hoping for more.
