“What happened?” Holly brushed Sierra’s hair aside, revealing the marks on her neck. “Don’t tell me that scumbag John did this to you.”

Sierra instinctively raised her hand to touch it, surprised that the short encounter had left its mark.

Holly could tell from her expression. “It really was him?”

“Yeah,” Sierra admitted.

“That bastard! Messing around with Pamela while still doing this to you,” Holly fumed, cursing him nonstop. “He’s a complete scumbag!”

Sierra silently agreed.

“Holly was so mad that she looked like she could go beat him up herself.

“Actually, there’s something I wanted to discuss,” Sierra said, after thinking it over.

Holly’s patience for her was endless. “Go ahead.”

“I might need to stay in your place for a few days,” Sierra said. Even as best friends, she liked to ask first, as that was basic respect. “I still haven’t found a place, and I can’t go back there.”

With John changing the passcodes, there was no way she could go back. Besides, the two of them were better off staying far

apart. 1

“This place is yours now. Stay as long as you want,” Holly replied, knowing how stubborn Sierra could be. She didn’t keep on complaining like earlier. “Come set your fingerprint. That way, you can come and go even when I’m not home.”

Sierra didn’t argue this time.

After registering her fingerprint, Holly was about to help her look into private diamond collectors, but her dad suddenly called, urgently asking her to come to the company. She couldn’t say no.

“Don’t worry, go handle your stuff,” Sierra said, not wanting to delay Holly from her work.

“Wait for me at home. Text me if anything comes up,” Holly replied, knowing her dad wouldn’t call unless it was important. I’ll be back soon.”

Holly’s parents had a business marriage, and each lived their own life. However, they both doted on Holly and treated her like a princess.

Holly had barely left for an hour when Sierra received a message op her phone. “Hello, is the ring still available?”

Sierra quickly replied, “Yes.”

The other party asked for her number and called directly, stating his purpose. “I’m very interested in the diamond on your ring. If you’re available, let’s meet in person to discuss. Price is negotiable.”

“And you are?” Sierra never agreed to meet without verifying who she was dealing with

The caller introduced himself, “I’m Kenneth Gomez, CEO of Gomez Group.” He also sent over his business card and credentials.

After checking, Sierra agreed. “Where do you want to meet?”

She had heard of Kenneth. He had a good reputation in the business world and was known for being upright. It felt much safer dealing with someone like that.

“Grand Capital Hotel, meeting room 2801,” he gave her the address. “I’m already here on business, so might as well do it here.”

Sierra agreed. “Alright, I’ll head over now.”

Even though Kenneth had a good reputation, Sierra still took precautions. Before leaving, she sent Holly two messages with her location and enabled the emergency alert button on her phone just in case.
