Nicholas started by saying to Sierra, “How about I find you the best lawyer, and you file for divorce?”

“Ever since he took over, he’s run everything perfectly. It’ll be hard to find a weak spot,” Sierra said.

“You don’t need a real mistake,” Holly said. She knew how rich families worked, after all. “You just need to stir up trouble between John and his parents.”

Sierra hesitated.

John didn’t like his parents. He didn’t even want much contact with them. If she really set this off, he would probably hate her.

He might even say that if she wanted a divorce that badly, he would give it to her, but she shouldn’t come crawling back to beg him to take her back in when she couldn’t make it on her own.

She knew what she was going to do was a little morally wrong, but if John played dirty and refused to divorce, this was the only thing she could do.

On the balcony next door, John heard every word clearly. The second Sierra agreed, his grip tightened on his cup. His dark eyes were fixed on the night outside.
