After thinking it through, Sierra stepped out of the elevator and followed Morgan to the conference room.

Two untouched cups of expensive tea sat in front of Danny and Agnes. Their expressions were stern, and they carried the air of people used to having power and authority.

“Please, take your time. If you need anything, call me. I’ll be right outside,” Morgan said, overly polite. He knew that if Origin Games offended the Hendersons, things would get bad very fast.

“Sure,” Danny said calmly.

When the door was shut, only Sierra and the two of them were left inside the conference room.

She sat across from them. The fear she used to feel was long gone. Her voice came out steady as she spoke to them.

“Mr. Henderson, Mrs. Henderson, what did you want to see me about?”

“You aren’t even divorced yet, and you’ve already changed how you address us,” Agnes said, staring her down, the disdain apparent in her voice. “Your family sure knows how to raise a proper daughter.”

“Weren’t you the one who said I should address you properly?” Sierra shot back.

She remembered it clearly.

Last time, she had called them by their first names, and Agnes had hit her with that sharp, mocking line. They weren’t to be addressed as such.

However, Sierra wasn’t going to force a title they didn’t like. If they were not happy with it, she would drop it.

“You really think that just because John has supported you for a few years, you can challenge us Hendersons?” Agnes looked at Sierra somewhat threateningly. “Don’t forget, you have nothing right now. It would be easy for us to ruin you.”

Sierra kept her tone polite. “You’re right, of course.”

Agnes’s temper flared.

Such foolishness. She actually thought John would protect her forever!

“Let’s talk business first,” Danny said, tapping Agnes’s arm as if to calm her down. He then looked at Sierra. “Your divorce’s cooling–off period is over. When are you planning to finalize it?”

“Next Friday,” Sierra said without hesitation.

Danny frowned. “Why next Friday?”

“That’s the only time he’s free,” Sierra said.

Danny and Agnes traded a look.

Their first thought was that John had finally put proper business first. Even so… The divorce needed to be finalized quickly. Leaving Sierra at their son’s side was like keeping a ticking time bomb next to him.

“Fine,” Danny said, still looking like he was the one in high authority. “Since you’re cooperating and not making a scene about this, I suppose we can talk with you about Tommy properly”

Sierra blinked before she realized what they were talking about “Tommy?”

“We’ve thought about it over these past few days properly. While John’s original plan isn’t wrong, it’s better for Tommy to be raised with us. If he stays with you, people will laugh that we can’t even win custody of one child,” Danny said sternly.

“Tommy is mine,” Sierra said.
