Regrets Come Too Late (Sierra and Johnny) novel Chapter 245

Chapter 245

+30 Bonus

While Sierra wrestled with different thoughts, Danny and Agnes’s bodyguards had already shoved her into the car.

After Danny’s threats, Sierra avoided doing anything reckless. She didn’t want her mother, who was about to wake up, or Holly and the others to face any of these problems.

Maybe John was just making empty threats, but Danny and Agnes weren’t. With their temper, they would cross every moral line.

Robin brought John the news quickly, as calm as ever. Your parents have taken Ms. Bell away. They will be reaching the Henderson Residence in about half an hour.

Don’t interfere,John said, barely moving his lips.

If she wanted this divorce so badly, then she needed to learn what it meant to live without him. If she couldn’t even handle this, how was she supposed to deal with those two coming after her for Tommy later?

Understood,Robin said.

He was just going to leave and continue with his work when John got up from his chair, a dark expression on his face.

John said, Call Lucy. We’re going to the family estate.

Robin’s expression suggested his hunch had just been verified. Got it.

By the time Danny and Agnes brought Sierra to the family estate, John was almost there.

From inside the car, he watched the bodyguards march her in, and his gaze immediately turned darker.

Lucy, watching how everything unfolded, couldn’t hold it back and asked, If you’re that worried, why don’t you get out and stop them?

John bit his lip and said nothing. If he stepped in now, it would simply prove that Sierra was right when she asked if he had any dignity left inside of him.

Pull up every security camera feed on the estate. Watch everything live,John said after a long while.

Lucy did as he said.

Sierra was forced deeper into the estate. Across the front yard, down the covered walkway, all the way to the pond out back.

Danny pulled out the divorce agreement again and shoved it in front of her. Ready to sign now? Sign, and everything is negotiable. Refuse, and you’ll be staying here a while.

Sierra glanced at the clear pond and answered without hesitation. I’m not signing.

Danny’s gaze chilled as he smiled. You’ve got some backbone. We’ll see how long it lasts.

Before they came in, Sierra had already turned on her phone’s video recorder and slipped it into her pocket.

Mr. Henderson, she said calmly, You know this is illegal.

Danny didn’t care.

He made a hand motion, and the bodyguards threw her into the pond.

Splash!

Water spilled over the edge as Sierra was thrown into the water. If she hadn’t been a strong swimmer, she could have drowned right there.

Danny looked at one of the bodyguards and said, Get in there and hold her under for twenty seconds at a time. Let her breathe

once, then shove her under again. Keep going until she agrees to sign.

Understood, the bodyguard said, and he stepped straight into the water.

Sierra tried to swim away. She had started the recording to protect herself later, not because she planned to let them torture her.

She only managed a few strokes before a hand grabbed her shoulder. The bodyguard seized the back of her neck and drove her under.

Suffocation hit her in that instant. She tried to fight back, but the more she struggled, the worse it got.

GurgleGurgle

Bubbles streamed upward.

Knowing how to swim meant nothing when there was a hand pressing on her neck, forcing her down.

If you change your mind, raise your right hand,Danny said, watching her with open contempt. I’ll have him bring you up.

Sierra refused to listen at all.

The suffocation was enough to make her swallow mouthfuls of water. The panic nearly tore her apart.

When her movements started to slow, Danny gave the bodyguard a look. The man immediately let go of her.

Sierra immediately got a mouthful of fresh air, but she barely got a second mouthful before a hand closed around her neck again and shoved her back under the water.
