Chapter 253
John had no idea what was going through Sierra’s mind.
He never imagined she would see it that way, and he never expected all the bitter words he had tossed out without meaning any of it just to make things hard for her would make her hold such a deep grudge.
After he went back to his room, John sat out on the balcony. He heard Holly arriving and opened the door. He caught faint sounds from next door, but he could not hear what the two of them were chatting about from the balcony.
He turned his phone in his hand, wanting to send Sierra a message, but he knew she was done with him. In the end, he could only turn to someone else.
He typed a message to Lucy.
[You still haven’t pulled the surveillance from the family residence, right?]
Lucy replied, [The laptop’s in your car.]
John sent back, [Three minutes.]
Lucy took out her other laptop in a resigned manner, ran a few quick applications on it, and sent him the footage he wanted. She couldn’t help asking, [What do you want this for?]
John answered with two simple words: [Peace offering.]
Lucy lifted her brow, but she quickly understood what he meant.
John watched the footage from the family residence. It clearly showed Danny forcing Sierra to sign the papers and shoving her under the water. Even though he had seen that scene with his own eyes, watching it again still sent the anger boiling in his chest.
He opened his chat with Sierra and sent the video to her.
Worried she would misunderstand his intention, he followed it with a voice message.
“He could easily say you were secretly filming his property and invading his privacy with your phone recording. If you want to sue him, use this video.”
From the moment he had seen her there earlier, he had known she was recording. The angle was too obvious. He could not be the only one to notice it, so Danny must have noticed too.
The only reason Danny hadn’t called her out was most likely because he was waiting for the day Sierra tried to use the footage to threaten him, so he could turn around and sue her for invasion of privacy or something like that.
When Sierra saw his message, her first instinct was to block and delete him. But when she saw the video, she paused, then tapped it open.
Holly leaned over to watch with her, and she could only open her eyes wide in surprise in the first few moments.
Holly’s frown deepened as she continued watching.
“Is John’s dad out of his mind? He could be charged with attempted murder for that! I knew something was wrong. You were supposed to be at work today, so why were you suddenly at home?”
Holly knew almost everything about Sierra. Her worried gaze looked over Sierra from head to toe.
“Are you alright? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?”
“I’m fine.” Sierra had completely recovered now.
She played the voice message, and John’s words came through the speaker clearly.

Holly understood John even less now. One moment, he had made Sierra furious. The next, he sent this like nothing had ever happened.
But what if they had a video? How many lawyers could actually beat Henderson Group?
As if he knew what she was thinking, John sent another line of text.
[You don’t need to look for a lawyer. When the case goes to court, I’ll assign the most professional legal team from Henderson Group to you.]
