Chapter 254
But this time, John realized that his family had gone too far.
“Understood,” Robin said.
John couldn’t deny just how efficient Robin was. In just half a day, Robin stripped Danny of most of his remaining authority in the company with John’s permission.
When Danny found out, his face turned dark. He immediately called John and asked, “Did you tell them to do this?”
He didn’t say what “this” was, but John knew he meant. “Yes.”
“I’m your father,” Danny said, clinging to that one card, anger seething in his chest. “What you’re doing is neglecting your duty to me as a son completely. Since you’re admitting it, I’ll let it go if you give everything back to me.”
“So what?” John’s heart had already gone cold a long time ago.
Danny’s expression darkened. “John.”
John started speaking with a gentle tone, but the pressure from it was immense.
“You should be at home enjoying retirement now that you’re old, so you don’t need to worry about anything else. Your pension will be transferred to your account every month.”
“You ingrate!” Danny finally spat the words out.
John hung up on him.
Danny shook with rage.
Up until a moment ago, even though he was no longer CEO of Henderson Group, he could still interfere in some company matters and in John’s affairs. Now, with most of his power having been revoked, what little left would not last long either.
Things could not have changed so much in such a short time if John had acted alone.
“I’m going to find those two ingrates,” Danny said, unable to swallow his anger. “Do they really think they can do whatever they want just because they’re grown?”
“And what exactly are you going to say to them?” Agnes saw the situation clearly now, her mind filled with different thoughts.” They both hold real power in the company now. If you engage in them head–on, you won’t get anything out of it.”
“Then what do you think I should do?” Danny was furious. “I can’t really just take the money he gives me and muddle through the rest of my life, can I?”
A life like that would be no different from being a sitting duck. The moment they decided to stop paying, what could he do?
“I’m only telling you not to confront them head–on, not telling you to give up your authority.” Agnes sounded calmer now, without the harshness when she was speaking with Sierra. “Women have both seduced them. Get rid of the women influencing them, and they’ll come back around.”
“You mean…” Danny hesitated.
Agnes gave a clear answer. “Yes.”
Danny hesitated even more.
John had stopped listening to them once he grew up. He did not care about the family and did not want to deal with them. It had only gotten worse after he got married.
Solomon was different. He had always been polite and well–behaved, only starting to rebel recently. Agnes was sure it had something to do with the woman he kept at home.

“I can take care of Solomon. As for John…” Danny thought of what had happened today, and there was fear beneath all that anger of his. “If I lay a hand on Sierra again, he might actually kill me.”
