Sierra looked toward where the voice was coming from.
Kenneth wore a perfectly tailored suit. His expression was gentle and sunny, and he wore an apologetic smile. When he looked at her, his gaze was warm and friendly, making him seem approachable despite the situation.
“My apologies for my bodyguards‘ rudeness, Ms. Bell. Please don’t take it to heart,” Kenneth said, walking in and taking a seat. He then poured her a cup of coffee. “Come, sit. Let’s discuss the ring.”
“I don’t want to sell it anymore,” Sierra said, glancing at her phone that was still without any signal, hoping for a way out.
“I hope you’ll reconsider,” Kenneth replied, sliding the tea toward her. “If it’s because I was late or my guards were rude, I can make it up to you.”
“It’s not that. I just suddenly want to keep it for the memory,” Sierra said.
Kenneth rubbed the cup between his fingers, his demeanor suddenly shifting. “Is that so?”
Sierra nodded. “Yes.”
“Then you may not really understand me,” Kenneth said slowly. “I rarely ask to buy anything personally. If someone backs out at the last minute, it puts me in a very bad mood.”
Sierra’s grip on her bag tightened.
Kenneth took a slow sip of tea, completely at ease. “Why don’t you name your price?”
“Five million dollars,” Sierra said, hoping he’d back off.
“I’m being serious here, Ms. Bell. Please don’t take me for a fool,” Kenneth replied with a calm smile. “How about two hundred?
At this point, if Sierra didn’t realize he was toying with her, she would have to be an idiot.
She gripped her phone. “I’m not selling.”
“My apologies, then.” Kenneth signaled the bodyguards.
They immediately closed in. Sierra frantically pressed her emergency call button, but before she could finish, someone yanked her phone away and restrained her.
“This is robbery!” Sierra protested.
“Who said I wanted your ring?” Kenneth walked up and lifted her chin, repeating a line a certain someone wanted him to repeat, “With John around, you’re beyond my reach. Now, it’s time you pay your father’s debts.”
Sierra’s heart skipped a beat.
Before she could ask what he meant, Kenneth ordered the bodyguards, “Tie her up, blindfold her, and put her in the next suite. I’ll be over soon.”
“My friend’s downstairs! If I’m not back in ten minutes, she’ll call the policel” Sierra tried to scare them, but Kenneth wasn’t
concerned.
In terror, she was dragged away by the guards.
Only after Sierra was gone did Kenneth speak to the small room attached to the conference space.
“That’s your precious little wife, whom you won’t even let anyone look at her funny… Are you really okay with scaring her like
this?”

“If she’s never taught a lesson, she’ll never learn,” said a man in a cool tone.
John stepped out, wearing a gray suit, his entire presence cold as ice as he looked in the direction Sierra had been taken.
She was even willing to sell the ring… If he hadn’t taught her a lesson now, who knew what she would try next?
“Don’t go too far,” Kenneth said with some sympathy for Sierra. “If something happens, you’re the one who’ll be worried in the end.”
