Chapter 262
“Is that true?” the officer asked Pamela.
Pamela glanced at John and Sierra before she answered. “Yes.”

Cindy was stunned. She had always thought Pamela had deliberately said those things so she would misunderstand that there was something between Sierra and John. But from what Pamela had just said… Did Sierra really have something going on with John?
Aside from her body, what else could she possibly trade with him for money?
“What was it?” the officer asked..
“This…” Pamela hesitated, her gaze sliding to John beside her, her expression mixed. “John told me not to talk about it to outsiders. I need his permission.”
The officer had no choice but to turn to John. “Mr. Henderson.”
Before the officer could ask anything, John put his left hand with Sierra’s right and said, “Sierra is my wife. I made her angry, so she decided to sell the ring I gave her out of spite. I was the buyer.”
The officer fell silent.
That was one serious public display of affection.
Cindy felt like she had taken a critical hit as she opened her eyes wide.
Sierra was John’s wife, who, according to all the rumors, was spoiled by him?!
Her initial shock slowly turned into fear, then into pure terror, until the chill crawled down her spine.
No wonder Mr. Henderson had made a special trip to their team–building event. No wonder he had gone on stage at the anniversary party to take Sierra’s hand. No wonder he called her with such a loving tone.
So that was the reason why.
“Ms. Sanders…” Cindy no longer felt the slightest resentment toward Sierra. She transferred it all to Pamela instead. “You knew from the beginning?”
“I did, but Mr. Henderson told me not to tell anyone,” Pamela replied calmly, even when jealousy was roaring inside her.
She had never expected John to confess everything so openly. Wasn’t he supposed to be making things hard for Sierra and forcing her to come back to him after her suffering? Why admit it so easily? Why did he sound so loving?
“Then why did you say things that would make people misunderstand you?” Cindy pressed. “If you hadn’t said those things that led me on, I never would’ve misunderstood Sierra!”
Pamela turned her head slightly. “Are you seriously blaming me for this now?”
Cindy forced the words she wanted to say back inside. Sierra was John’s wife and someone she couldn’t afford to cross. Pamela was Mr. Henderson’s secretary, also someone she couldn’t afford to offend.
Not to mention…
Cindy suddenly remembered what had happened in the past.
Pamela had always deliberately kept a close, almost intimate relationship with John, even using slightly suggestive ways to address him. If not for what had happened today, Cindy might really have believed that Mr. Henderson liked Pamela, given enough time.
“Most of the responsibility in this matter lies with Ms. Inman,” the officer said after getting the full picture. “Ms. Sanders’s
