Sierra tried to push for a better price as she negotiated with the men Kenneth sent.

“One hundred thousand.”

“You should know this ring is useless to our boss.” The man stayed in character, his tone cold and flat. “He’s only buying this to cause Mr. John some trouble.”

“If you want to get him, a hundred thousand is even better,” Sierra answered.

The man stood up as if he were about to leave. “Looks like you’re not really interested in the trade, Ms. Bell.”

“Fine, sixty thousand.” Sierra stopped him, tightening her grip on the ring box. “Transfer the money now.” (1

He agreed without hesitation.

Once the fund transfer was done, Sierra would give up the ring. The moment the transfer was done, Sierra handed the ring over to the man.

It was at this time that she knew these men were not Solomon’s men at all. His people would never just buy the ring and walk away. They would offer advice and discuss working together.

A man like Solomon would never pass up a chance to get at John.

But whether they were his people no longer mattered. All she needed was to sell the ring and get the money for her mother’s surgery.

“A pleasure doing business with you,” the man said as he pocketed the ring and reached out his hand.

Sierra gave him a brief handshake.

The instant the handshake appeared on screen, Kenneth could sense the coldness coming from the man on the other side of the

video call.

John’s icy voice came through, rumbling. “I told your men to buy the ring. I did not tell them to start improvising.”

“That’s just basic courtesy after closing a deal,” Kenneth said, instantly regretting the video call. “Don’t tell me you’re even jealous of that.”

“She’s still legally my wife,” John reminded him.

In other words, unrelated people should not touch her.

Kenneth wanted to walk away from the whole mess, but he was stuck with John. He could only sigh and said, “Alright, alright. I’ll yell at him later, okay? Do you want the ring sent over now or tomorrow?”

“Tomorrow.” John hung up as soon as he finished.

Kenneth accepted everything and hung up, putting his phone away. He waited until Sierra left before stepping out of the shadows. He took the ring from his men, warned them to keep their mouths shut, and left.

Meanwhile, Sierra checked the balance on her bank account again. Once she was sure the money was there, she headed to Tommy’s school.

Classes had just ended, and the Henderson family’s driver was already waiting there.

The moment Tommy saw her, he ran toward her on his stubby little legs like always. “Monummy!”

Sierra patted his head and asked him some ordinary questions like usual.

“How was school today?”

“Pretty good,” Tommy answered, his eyes focused on her. “Missing you a little, though.”

Sierra smiled and pulled him into a hug. But when she still didn’t lead him toward the car, Tommy sensed something was off. 1 He asked softly, “Are we going to our new home with just us?”

“That’s what Mommy came to talk to you about.” Sierra made her voice as gentle as she could, so it would be easier for him to accept. “For the next couple of days, you’ll stay at Daddy’s place first. Once Mommy finds a place to live, I’ll come pick you up. Alright?”

Tommy nodded.

Sierra added, “Remember to eat properly and sleep on time for the next two days.”

“Okay.” Tommy nodded hard again.

Sierra forced her feelings back down and hugged him before letting him go. “Go on. When you get home, let me know, alright?” “You’re not coming back with me?”

Tommy still had no idea that John had already taken away every bit of access Sierra once had.
