“So you couldn’t even wait a minute?” Her voice sounded like it had thorns.

“Come to the study when you’re done washing up,” John said. “I’ve got something serious to talk to you about.”

Sierra didn’t answer.

Ten minutes later, she walked into the study in her usual casual outfit, her freshly washed face clear and still faintly damp, long smooth hair draping over her shoulders. She looked like she didn’t have a care in the world.

John’s gaze lingered on her for a long time.

Sierra finally broke the silence, her voice icy. “What is it?”

“We’ve collected all the evidence of Lucas hurting you.” Jolin didn’t mention what had happened earlier. His expression stayed calm as he changed the subject. “Do you want to press charges or let him keep going to Danny’s place?”

Sierra frowned. She couldn’t understand how fast he had switched topics.

“He didn’t actually manage to cause you serious physical harm. He won’t get much time when they decide the sentence, as long as he behaves himself and makes a good excuse,” John said, reading the look in her eyes without bothering to explain more. Even with Henderson Group’s lawyers, it would be the same.”

There wasn’t much room to work with in a case like this, but it was still possible to turn a short detention into an actual prison

sentence.

“Have you thought about it?” Sierra knew he wouldn’t ask unless it mattered.

“On paper, Lucas is Tommy’s grandfather. If Tommy wants to go into certain lines of work in the future, this could affect his background check,” John said. He knew how much she loved Tommy. “That is why I’m asking you.”

John had planned to have Tommy take over the family business, but Sierra had always respected Tommy’s own wishes. If she reported Lucas now and it came back to affect Tommy one day, she would regret it.

He didn’t want her to regret it.

Sierra paused.

She really hadn’t thought that far ahead.

“You just said he’s been going to Danny?” Sierra caught onto his earlier words.

John briefly described his recent meeting with Lucas. “He’s afraid I’ll send him to prison, so he’s been causing a commotion at my family residence. He follows wherever Danny goes.”

“He can actually get close to your dad?” Sierra was surprised.

John’s parents never went anywhere without bodyguards. Lucas shouldn’t have been able to get anywhere near Danny with their level of security.

John just looked at her and said nothing.

Sierra’s mind moved quickly, and she realized what was happening. “You have someone placed at Danny’s side?”

“I did,” John nodded.

Sierra watched him for a while before she spoke again. “He can do whatever he wants with Danny.”

Let them tear each other apart. That way, it wouldn’t affect Tommy, and Lucas would still pay a price.

“Alright.” John agreed. “I’ll put some pressure on him and make sure they go after each other as much as possible.”
