John didn’t respond to Kenneth’s comment.

Kenneth truly thought Sierra was a good woman. “Sierra has never done anything to let you down from the beginning, but you keep putting her through this again and again. Are you really not afraid you’re going to wear her out?”

“Even if I do, I’ll still keep her by my side.” John was calm to the extreme.

Kenneth felt something was off. “You…”

Ever since that incident, John hadn’t been in a good state. He looked calm and humble on the surface, but deep down, he was an intense man with the intensity who could snap if you pushed his buttons the wrong way.

John turned and looked at Kenneth. “Get out.”

Kenneth looked at the long, empty stretch of road. “Where exactly am I supposed to get out around here?”

John thought Kenneth was being too noisy and ruining his mood. “That’s your problem. It has nothing to do with me.”

“Just keep doing this to yourself!” Kenneth climbed out of the car, cursing as he went. “If you get beaten up so badly and can’t get up, don’t expect me to come get you!”

“Even if you want to, you’ll have to stand in line.” John tossed out this merciless line, shut the door, and rode off.

Kenneth was speechless.

Fuming, he called Lucy.

“Come pick me up. I sent you my location. That idiot really is no friend of mine. I don’t want to deal with his mess ever again!”

Lucy sounded lazy on the other end. “You’re the one who spoiled him.”

Kenneth blinked. “Say that again so I understand it properly.”

“You give him whatever he wants. That’s spoiling him.” Lucy s grabbed her car keys and headed out to get him, her tone easy. Sometimes, I even suspect you’re secretly in love with him. Otherwise, why do you go along with him on everything?”

Kenneth was stunned.

He really needed a knife right now!

Time slipped by, and soon it was already Friday.

Anna set her hand on Sierra’s shoulder, steadying her. “Once I can walk a bit farther, I’ll ask my friend out and have her help you negotiate the divorce. She’s a very good lawyer.”

“Alright.” A touch of softness returned to Sierra’s face.

“Have you talked to Tommy about leaving?” Anna asked.
