“Mr. Roger’s car had a little accident on the way, so we stopped to fix it for a bit,” he said, his cheeks puffed out.

“How much longer until you get here?” John asked.

Tommy looked at Grant in the driver’s seat, then glanced at the navigation.

“About an hour. There was an accident in the tunnel up ahead, so traffic is a bit jammed.” Tommy huffed. “Hear that?”

John ignored him and looked at Sierra. “You can go upstairs and rest for a while. When he gets here, I’ll come up and call you.”

“It’s fine. I’ll wait for him downstairs. I have nothing else to do, anyway.” Sierra turned him down.

John said nothing more.

After the call ended, Sierra went to sit on the living room sofa.

Bored, she took out her phone and started looking up industries she was interested in. She wanted to finish her business plan during this time. If everything went smoothly, she would officially put it into motion once she left Jade City.

“Sierra.” John came over and sat down beside her.

Sierra kept her eyes on her phone and answered in a nonchalant tone. “What?”

“Do you remember what day today is?” John watched her with a deep gaze. He knew perfectly well she wasn’t present at all.

Sierra did not even look at him. “What is it?”

John then said, “You asked me for a divorce exactly two months ago.”

Sierra paused.

After a moment, she shot back, “Why don’t you call it the two–month anniversary of you openly telling me you wanted to Support Pamela?”

“Still angry about that?” John reached out and touched her.

Sierra stopped doing whatever she was doing, her eyes left the phone and landed on John’s face, meeting those dark eyes.

The next second, she said seriously, “You really don’t know I’m angry at you? You know exactly how I feel, so what are you trying to do by asking something like that?”

“I’m sorry.” John leaned in closer, his eyes full of sincerity. “I just saw you staring at your phone and not at me. I wanted you to at least pay attention to me.”

Sierra’s anger pressed hard against her chest.

When John spoiled her, he really went all the way. He understood every shift in her mood and always responded with care and

care.

But when he made her furious, he would go all the way too, just like now.

“Don’t sneak off and leave me.” John didn’t want to keep arguing, so he reminded her again. “Alright?”

A shiver ran down Sierra’s spine. Had he guessed it?

“I have a strange personality and a bad temper.” John lowered his eyes to her slim, rosy fingertips and slowly said, “When I get mad, I might not even be able to control myself.”
