“You are the most important to me,” Tommy blurted out.
Sierra took his hand. “Then I’ll secretly steal you away?”
Tommy grinned cunningly. “I’m going with you because I want to.”
Sierra told him the truth. “I’m not planning to tell your dad about this. When your grandma gets a bit better, we’ll pick a time
and leave.”
“Sure.” Tommy nodded.
“Aren’t you going to ask why?” Sierra hadn’t expected things to go this smoothly.
“If we tell Dad, he’ll definitely stop us. He doesn’t want you to leave.” Tommy was still young, but he saw things with great clarity. “But this time, it’s completely his fault.”
He didn’t want his dad and mom to split up either, but his mom was not happy here. Leaving was the best choice.
“Thank you, sweetheart.” Sierra hugged him. Having her child understand and support her meant a great deal to her.
Not long after they finished talking, John came upstairs. The way the two of them looked at him made him a little suspicious. That expression…
“Was that lady calling you just now?” Tommy asked. Not only had Sierra seen the call, but he had also caught the name on the
screen.
“There’s something she needs me to handle.” John didn’t deny it. He reached out and patted Tommy’s head. “Behave yourself later and don’t make your mother worry.”
“Can you not go?” Tommy asked.
John paused.
“I don’t like her.” Tommy rarely spoke to him like this. Mostly, he just wanted his dad to leave a slightly better impression on her mother before they left. “Ever since she showed up, our family has fallen apart.”
Sierra’s arms tightened around Tommy without her even noticing, while John’s lips pressed into a straight line.
After a long moment, John finally spoke. “I’m sorry. This is something Dad owed her in the past. Now, I have to pay it back slowly.”
“If you leave, you’ll only be Uncle John from now on.” Tommy had almost never said anything that sounded like a threat, but this time he did.
He understood a lot, but he was still just a child. On ordinary days, he played and messed around, but now that he was really about to leave, there was still a bit of reluctance in his heart.
After his mom, his dad was the one who treated him best. If it weren’t necessary, he would rather his parents stay together.
“You’re talking like you’ll call me Dad now.” John reached out and flicked his forehead lightly. “Behave yourself. I’ll be back soon.”
Then he raised his eyes and looked at Sierra. After that, he said nothing more and walked out.
Once John left the residence and got into the car, he tapped on his phone a few times and sent a message.
[Are you enjoying using Pamela Sanders?]
Two messages soon popped up from Solomon.

(What happened?]
John typed again. (Your girlfriend probably still doesn’t know Mom and Dad picked out a fiancee for you. Do you want me to tell her?1
Solomon’s gaze darkened slightly as he stared at the screen. His fingertip brushed slowly across the glass.
John called Solomon a little later. As soon as the line connected, he went straight to the point. “Stop using Pamela to disrupt my time with Sierra. If you won’t, I don’t mind using the exact same method on you.”
Every time Pamela called, it was right when things between him and Sierra had finally eased a little.
Once could be called a coincidence.
But over and over? It could only mean someone was stirring things up behind the scenes.
Pamela herself didn’t have that kind of ability. Only Solomon was left, and they had met previously.
“You’re welcome to try,” Solomon said with his tone slow and lazy, as if he didn’t care at all.
“If I give your girlfriend one million dollars and tell her you’ll never find her again, do you think she’ll leave you?” Every word John said hit where it hurt.
“If you don’t mind wasting the money, you can try.” Solomon sounded exactly the same as before. “I happen to want to see it, too.”
