Chapter 396
Sierra was jolted awake from her nightmare. Cold sweat covered her forehead, and her heart still raced.
“Mommy…” Tommy mumbled in a sleepy voice, his hand holding her arm. “Did you have a nightmare?”
“No,” Sierra said, forcing herself to steady her breathing and gently patting his back. “Go back to sleep.”
She had slept next to Tommy because she was afraid he wouldn’t sleep well in a new place. In the end, she was the one who couldn’t sleep well.
She didn’t sleep again that night. Her mind kept replaying the words John had said in her nightmare, and every time she thought of the way he had looked at her, her chest tightened on its own.
John didn’t sleep well, either. He was staring at his chat with Sierra the whole night.
He had already decided that as long as Sierra sent him a message and told him where she was, he could let go of everything from the day before and pretend none of it had happened.
But that chat window stayed completely still all the way until dawn.
She did not send a message.
She did not return a call.
She had deliberately erased herself from his world.
“Sir.” A little after seven, Robin appeared. “Your breakfast.”
“Bring Sierra here before ten.” John did not even glance at the tray. His voice was cold as he gave the order. “Tell Lucy to take care of Tommy. Don’t let him worry.”
If she would not come to him, he would go to her.
“What if Ms. Bell refuses…” Robin hesitated.
There was no warmth in John’s eyes. “Do you need me to teach you what to do?”
“Understood.”
A little after eight, Anna finished breakfast and left.
Less than ten minutes after she stepped out, Robin had someone call Sierra, pretending to be a courier and asking her to come out to sign for a delivery.
Sierra did not suspect anything. She had indeed ordered things online the day before.
She had just taken the package and had not yet signed when someone struck the back of her neck. Her vision went black. She did not even have time to react before she passed out.
Robin stepped out of the black car parked not far away. When he saw the scene, a flicker of guilt crossed his eyes, but he still had them carry Sierra into the car,

Sierra woke up an hour later.
She lay on a bed, eyes opening to an unfamiliar hotel room. She rubbed at the back of her neck where she had been struck earlier.
She did not panic. She could already guess that this was most likely John’s doing.
“Ms. Bell…” Robin spoke from the doorway at just the right moment, guilt threaded through his voice. Are you alright?”
Sierra let her hand fall from her neck. Her expression stayed cool. “Where’s John?”
Robin cleared his throat. “Mr. Henderson is outside waiting for you.”
Sierra got out of bed.
“Sir, Ms. Bell is awake,” Robin reported.

John raised his eyes toward the room she was in as he was sitting on the sofa. A moment later, when he saw her come out, her face was indifferent. When her gaze met his, it was completely blank.
They looked at each other, and neither spoke first.
“You two should talk,” Robin said as he slipped out, sensing the tension in the air. “If you need anything, call me.”
The door shut behind him.
The large suite held only the two of them now.
Looking at the woman who had clearly grown bolder, John could not hold back and spoke first. “Don’t you have something you want to say to me?”
“You had me brought here by force. Shouldn’t you be the one who has something to say?” Sierra
countered.
“I want to hear it from you.” As long as she said she had only come here to stay for a while, he would
accept it, even if it was a lie.
“There’s nothing left to say,” Sierra said, her eyes on him were far more distant than the last time. “As you can see, I came to Harbor City without telling you,”
