As soon as the words left Sierra’s mouth, John’s eyes went even darker.
“But are you really the victim?” she said.
In Sierra’s eyes, a man like him was indeed quite frightening. Anyone who did not know the truth and only saw him like this would think he was loyal and deeply in love, that he was just trying to repay a debt of gratitude, and she was the one being
unreasonable.
But the truth?
The real problem had never been solved.
“Are you done?” John’s voice stayed calm, his gaze deep and unreadable.
Sierra let out a sneer.
Here they were again. Every word she said felt like she was simply screaming into the void.
“If you’re done, get ready to go back to Jade City,” John said. He stood and walked over to her, speaking, slowly. “If you agree to go back on your own, you’ll suffer less.”
“I’m not going back.” Sierra really had grown bolder.
“I’m not negotiating with you.” John’s eyes swept over her stubborn face. “I’m already compromising a lot by coming to get you personally instead of using Holly and Nicholas to force you.”
Sierra refused to let him gaslight her. “You know you’re forcing me too, huh?”
“Sierra, don’t push me,” John said.
“Then, stop pushing me either,” Sierra retorted.
The air went heavy in an instant.
Two stubborn people stared at each other with neither willing to give an inch, each trying to make the other side take a step back first without a word.
Sierra’s nature was more stubborn than anyone else’s. Even John could not out–stubborn her on this.
“Since you refuse, my only choice is to have them drag you back by force,” John said at last. “Once we’re back, you can do whatever you want to me, whether you want to hit me or curse me.”
“You’re really going to use force?” Sierra hadn’t expected that even until now, he was still like this.
“You refused me, so this is the only way,” John said.
“You’re not afraid I’ll hate you?” Sierra asked.
“Hating me is better than having you leave,” John said, his tone as steady as ever.
Sierra asked one last question “Is this your love?”
“Once we’re back, I’ll take good care of you, and I’ll apologize properly to Anna “John took a step toward her, his hand reaching out for her by instinct. “As for whether it is love or not, time will prove everything.”
Sierra shook his hand off
John didn’t care The road ahead was long. He believed he could make it up to her slowly
“I told you, I’m not leaving with you” sierra walked over to the side table and picked up a tron knife, her eyes filled with cold

determination. “It you insist on forcing me, then you can take a corpse back and love it for the rest of your life.”
John’s eyes narrowed
A moment later, he forced himselt to calm down again. His eyes shifted to the knife in her hand, and he said with a tope certainty.
“You won’t.”
Driven into a corner, Sierra could only push herselt over the edge. “Then try me.”
“You can’t let go of Tommy, and you can’t let go of your mother,” John said. He didn’t even know if he was talking to her or to himself. “You’re not the kind of person who would do something like this.”
“That was true before.” There was no trace of hope in Sierra’s eyes. “But things are different now.”
