Holly tugged Sierra’s sleeve and shot her a look, signaling to her it was time to leave. A fight between three generations was not

for them.

Once John saw Sierra and Holly walk off with Tommy, he stopped bothering with the courtesy.

“You only kept quiet because she doesn’t like you,” Nathan sald,

John stayed calm. “If she really didn’t like me, she wouldn’t have let me in today, and she definitely wouldn’t let me have any

Nathan went silent, and so did Cyrus.

“Were you invited in?” John asked, already knowing the answer.

Nathan and Cyrus once again said nothing.

“I guess not,” John said.

The two older men narrowed their eyes as they looked at John.

How could this brat be so annoying?!

John didn’t care about their thoughts. One was Sierra’s father, and the other her grandfather, but the only people who could really decide whether he and Sierra stayed together were Sierra and Anna.

As for them? One of them had to chase after his wife, while the other had to chase after his daughter. And they timed it badly, too.

“As long as the two of you don’t say things like that again, I can pretend none of this happened,” John said. “If I hear anything like that again, then I’ll go have a talk with Mom.”

“After all that, did you even bring a birthday gift today?” Nathan changed the subject. He had heard John planned to give Sierra a lot, but whether he really had was another matter.

“Didn’t you know about it already?” John asked.

Nathan and Cyrus both frowned.

John was surrounded by an aura of confidence. “I remember asking Robin to let the two of you know what I was going to give her, more or less.”

Nathan stared.

Cyrus narrowed his eyes.

“After all, this is Sierra’s first birthday in Harbor City,” John said. “I want her first birthday to net her something solid. It matters for her standing in Harbor City.”
