Sierra’s hands were on the steering wheel, her fingers brushing against it.

Being able to divorce just by paying some money was a good deal, but Sierra didn’t want to agree because Pamela was the person she had to deal with.

“You know John doesn’t want to divorce you. I’m sure you know how much time a divorce lawsuit will take by now. Don’t you want freedom even when it’s here right in front of you?” Pamela went on.

She was desperate for Sierra to say yes.

“No need to provoke me.” Sierra didn’t agree right away.

The more Sierra acted like this, the more anxious Pamela became.

Going back over their conversation, Sierra asked, “Where is that person, and how long will it take her to get to Harbor City?”

“Three days at most.” Pamela had finally learned to be careful. She knew only a mix of truth and lies could fool Sierra now. “I can promise you that once she knows about this, she’ll help you get the divorce. If she can’t do it, you can tell John where I am.”

Sierra turned to look at Pamela sideways. The fact that Pamela sounded so sure meant she was absolutely confident.

But who was this person? How could she make John let go of the promise he had made to Sierra when they got married?

“I won’t keep you guessing. That person isn’t just someone who saved John, but she’s also extremely important to him,” Pamela lied without the slightest hesitation. “To keep the promise he made to her, he can put every other promise aside, including the one he made to you.”

“I’ll think about it.” Sierra still did not agree to it outright. “Once I’ve decided, I’ll give you an answer.”

“No!” Pamela rejected that outright.

“Then I refuse,” Sierra said.

Pamela was absolutely furious. She forced herself to stay calm and kept trying to push Sierra instead.

“If you miss this chance, the only way you can divorce John is by taking him to court. Aren’t you afraid you’ll lose?”

“I am,” Sierra answered honestly. But when she looked at Pamela, her gaze was especially calm. “But you’re more afraid than I

am.”

Pamela froze,

“You’re in such a hurry to run because the truth about you pretending to be John’s savior is probably about to come out. If I lose the case, I can keep going. What about you?” she pointed out directly.

Sierra knew exactly what John was capable of. Pamela had lied to him for so long, manipulating him to get both wealth and love by using the excuse that she had saved him…

Once John got around it, the results wouldn’t be pretty.

“Fine.” Pamela forced herself to swallow her emotions. “I’ll give you time to think, but you have to give me an answer within two days.”

Sierra did not respond. She only urged Pamela to get out.

While Pamela was unhappy about it, she got out of the car and slammed the door hard.

For one second there, Pamela wanted to get rid of Sierra permanently. But this was the city center, and given how much John cared about Sierra, there were probably bodyguards he had sent to protect her hidden nearby,

Sierra lowered the window a little, just enough to hear her.

“Take out the dashcam and give it to me,” Pamela demanded, suddenly remembering it might have recorded their conversation. “Or delete everything we just said.”

Sierra ignored her, started the car, and drove off.

Startled, Pamela took two quick steps back, then shouted after the car’s taillights, “Sierra, have you gone insane?!”
