Chapter 476
Once might have been a coincidence, but after more than a dozen questions, Tommy answered almost every one of the scenarios at the same speed.
Tommy was prodigious at solving such scenarios.
“The most impressive part is that he wasn’t reading it himself. I was reading it to him,” Nicholas said. “After more than a dozen questions, he never asked me to repeat anything.”
“Look at who his parents are,” Holly said, resting a hand on Sierra’s shoulder. “Back then, all the top universities were fighting over Sierra. John got into a top university abroad right after high school, too.”
Nicholas nodded. “True.”
Sierra rubbed Tommy’s head and praised him a few times. Tommy got a little embarrassed from all the praise, then started praising Sierra back.
The four of them stayed in the room for quite a while, going back and forth like that.
By the time Tommy fell asleep, it was past nine. Only then did they go up to the rooftop to talk.
Three chairs were lined up in a row.
Nicholas looked at Sierra; when he noticed she was quieter than usual, he asked with concern, “What’s wrong? Who made you upset?”
“It’s not that she’s upset. She just needs time to sort herself out,” Holly said. She understood Sierra, so she answered Nicholas’s question for her.
“Sort out what?” Nicholas asked.
Holly rolled her eyes. “Her feelings.”
Sierra had with John was not an arranged marriage. They had chosen each other on their own, and she really had loved
That love of hers was real, and so was her hate. The disappointment was genuine as well, not to mention the regret.
as even more confused.
hings between her and John already reached the point of divorce à long time ago? Why did she still need time to sort gh anything?
John are going back to Jade City tomorrow to finalize the divorce,” Holly said. She knew Sierra didn’t like talking when her emotions were in a mess, so she explained it on Sierra’s behalf. “After that, they won’t have any more contact with each other anymore.”
“How are they doing that tomorrow?” Nicholas asked sincerely.
“At the Clerk’s Office,” Holly said.
“Tomorrow is Saturday,” Nicholas blurted out.
Holly froze. Even Sierra, who had barely reacted to anything, paused for a moment.
She picked up her phone and checked.
August 31st, Saturday.
It was such a simple, obvious thing, yet neither Sierra nor John had noticed it. Robin and Holly had not noticed it, either. Not even Kenneth, who had been so angry he said he would stop caring about John, had caught it.
They were so overwhelmed that all of them had lost track of time.

“Right.” Holly finally came back to herself and instinctively looked at Sierra. “Are you still going to Jade City tomorrow?”
Before Sierra could answer, her phone started buzzing.
John was calling. She answered right away.
John’s low, hoarse voice came through. “Tomorrow is Saturday, and the Clerk’s Office is closed. If you still insist on getting divorced tomorrow, I can have Robin make the arrangements.”
“Alright,” Sierra said.
She didn’t like using special connections, and she didn’t like troubling other people. But with this, she did not want to drag it out any longer.
The other end fell silent.
