Chapter 484
As per the usual rules, a time limit would apply for the other members of the King family. The faster they finished, the more shares they would be given. If they took too long, they got nothing instead.
“Alright.” Sierra made a note of it then started eating her breakfast.
Seeing that the matter hadn’t shaken Sierra in the slightest, Anna became even more certain that her daughter was meant for bigger things.
She stayed calm when it came to things that were important. Not everyone had that kind of composure.
“Once I transfer the funds to you, they’ll officially start discussing this with you,” Anna told her. “They’ll also give you a company that’s going to go bankrupt soon.”
She did not mention it earlier because she assumed the rule had probably fallen out of use after all these years. She did not want it to still be in place.
Sierra nodded. “Sure.”
Anna looked at her. “Tell me when you’re ready.”
Sierra answered without hesitation. “Next week, after I get the divorce certificate.”
“That soon?” Anna was a little worried.
Sierra had only been formally exposed to these things for a little over a month. Even though she spent a lot of time on them every day, there was still plenty she had yet to learn.
“The longer I drag this out, the easier it will be for me to become hesitant on everything. I would rather start as soon as the divorce is settled,” Sierra said. She knew herself very well. “Things don’t wait to start until you’re completely prepared.”
Part of it was impulse.
Part of it was timing.
There were very few things in this world that one could afford to wait until everything was one hundred percent ready.
“Alright.” Anna respected every decision she made.
Over the next few days, Sierra studied even harder.
During that time, Joey contacted her.
At first, she had no intention of replying.
But he sent several emails, then messaged her again. [Hey, cousin! This is the company they used back then when my brother tested me. Take a look if you want.]
Sierra gave it a quick look. The company’s overall structure was solid. It was just short on resources. That kind of problem could be solved by securing the right partnerships, so it wasn’t all that difficult.
“I failed back then because they sabotaged my deals behind the scenes,” Joey went on, sending her voice messages. “Be careful. They won’t let you get those shares that easily.”
Sierra replied with two words: [Got it.]

The moment Joey saw her reply, he sent another message right away. [Why are you so cold? I’m your dear cousin too!]
Sierra saw it and did not reply. She simply went back to what she had been doing.
She knew Charlie and the others would never let her get the shares that easily, but no matter what was waiting for her, she would do everything she could to make it happen.
She wanted Charlie to know that what wasn’t his would go back to the right person eventually, even if he had held onto it with dirty tactics for ages.
Time passed in a flash.
Soon, it was the last day of the waiting period.
Sierra looked at September 29 on her schedule and crossed it out with a pen.
Once today was over, she could fly back to Jade City tomorrow and get the divorce certificate that should have been hers two months ago.
