About an hour later, they arrived at Henderson Group’s private hospital.
The moment Sierra walked into the ward, she saw John lying unconscious in the hospital bed. His once sharp features had blunted, worn down by too many overtimes and nights burning the midnight oil. He had also gotten noticeably thinner.
It would have been a lie to say she felt nothing at that moment.
“Ms. Bell.” Lance greeted her politely.
“What did the doctor say?” Sierra asked.
“He’s just finished the examinations. The results aren’t back yet.” Lance knew the two of them were
getting divorced today. Thinking about everything that had happened earlier, he scratched his head. “Ms. Bell, I have a favor to ask.”
Sierra looked at him. “Go ahead.”
Lance glanced at John’s pale face. “The boss isn’t trying to drag out the divorce on purpose. Can you not blame him this time?”
“Fine,” Sierra said.
Lance’s eyes lit up. “Really?”
Sierra gave him a firm answer. “Really.”
Lance clasped his hands together. “From now on, you’re my queen! Your command is my

About five minutes later, Dr. Smith walked in with the test results, all eyes on him.
Robin stepped forward and asked, “How is he?”
wish!”
“He passed out from exhaustion and malnutrition,” Dr. Smith said. Then he turned to Robin. “No matter how busy work gets, you still need to make sure he eats. Health is the most important thing of all.”
Robin looked confused. “But he eats three meals a day like normal. How could he not be eating properly?”
When John worked late, Robin even ordered him supper because he was worried John would burn too much energy due to work and go hungry.
Dr. Smith checked the report again, his expression turning serious. “That shouldn’t be possible.”
“These are the meal records I ordered for him.” Robin pulled up his chat history with the restaurant manager. “Every meal was balanced. I watched him eat.”
“That doesn’t make sense.” Dr. Smith looked baffled.

Even if his digestion was unusually fast, eating like this should not have led to these results.
John had clearly not been eating for quite a while.
Forde, who had been standing there the whole time, suddenly spoke up. “I get it!”
Lance turned to him. Everyone else looked at him, too.
Forde spoke in his usual calm tone. “The boss threw it all up after he ate.”
“If you didn’t actually see it, don’t make things up.” Lance knew his brother was wired differently, so his first reaction was that Forde was playing some strange game again. “This isn’t the time for jokes.”
“I’m not joking.” Forde looked completely serious. “I saw it.”
Robin immediately asked, “When did you see it?”
Forde closed his mouth and said nothing.
Lance urged him, “Say something.”
