After thinking it over, Sierra gave Forde her answer. “It’s for his own good.”
Forde wanted to say that even if it was for John’s own good, she still shouldn’t have revealed his secret so easily. But he quickly remembered that Sierra was different from everyone else, so he pushed those
words back down.
“Then, it looks like Mr. Henderson has been eating and throwing up for quite a while,” Dr. Smith said.” Otherwise, his test results wouldn’t look like this.”
“What caused it?” Lance asked, worried. “Can you figure it out?”
“We’ve ruled out any physical symptoms related to the head and the stomach. It could be severe stress, or it could be psychological. As for the exact cause, only he knows it for sure,” Dr. Smith answered.
Robin instinctively glanced at Sierra. He already had a guess.
“His stomach hasn’t been damaged yet, so it isn’t that serious.” Dr. Smith cared deeply about John’s health. “As long as you keep an eye on him from now on and make sure he eats and doesn’t throw up, he’ll recover soon enough.”
“Alright,” Robin said.
At the end of the day, he had failed his task as a personal assistant, especially when he had only just found out something so serious had been affecting his boss.
“If you need to talk, go outside. Mr. Henderson has been under too much physical and mental strain. He needs a good rest.” Thinking of the conversation he had heard when he came in, Dr. Smith then added, Whatever it is, it can wait until he wakes up.”
Both Lance and Forde nodded. “Sure.”
Dr. Smith nodded back at them and then looked at Sierra. “You can decide what to do next yourself.”
“Dr. Smith,” Robin called out to him again.
Dr. Smith turned and looked at Robin.
Thinking about why Sierra had come to Jade City today, Robin considered it carefully before asking, When will he wake up?”
“This afternoon was the earliest,” Dr. Smith said. Since Robin was his assistant, he added, “Even if he wakes up, I wouldn’t recommend Mr. Henderson go straight back to work.”
Robin gave a slight nod. “Understood.”
Dr. Smith gave a quiet nod and left with the test report in his hand. Lance and Forde also went outside to talk. Before long, only Sierra and Robin were left in the room.
Robin thought about it and chose his words carefully. “We still have some time. I’ll take you to the hotel

to get some rest first. I’ll get in touch again when he’s awake.”
“It’s fine.” Sierra walked toward the hospital bed. “It’s just a few hours.”
Robin paused. He understood what she meant. As soon as John woke up, they were going to get the divorce done.
“If you need anything, call me.” Robin didn’t say anything more. “I’ll be in Dr. Smith’s office.”
“Alright,” Sierra said.
Robin left. Worried that Marcus might say bad things about John and the others in front of Sierra, he
took Marcus with him.
The moment the door closed, Sierra sat down on the couch beside the bed, put her phone on silent, and let her eyes settle on John. She couldn’t describe how she felt exactly.
Was she worried? A little.
Worried that she couldn’t get divorced? No.
