Chapter 525
Sierra and Opal parted after the meal and business discussion, each of them getting into their own car.
Sierra trusted Opal’s abilities. Starview Media Incorporated was top in the industry in Harbor City, and it could handle plenty of things without making any waves.
On the way back, Sierra called Holly and told her about the deal she had made with Opal. The reason she had not gone to Hera’s company was simple. She did not want to drag them into the King family’s internal conflict.
The Chapman family was also one of Harbor City’s four major families. Whoever was behind this would not dare do much even if they stepped in. But if Holly and Hera got involved, they would very likely end up in trouble.
“There’s barely anything about you online right now. Three hundred thousand would be the ceiling at market rate,” Holly said, thinking the same thing Opal had. “Why did you offer so much?”
As long as the news had not gone out yet, Starview Media could bury it whenever they wanted. It was a very easy task for them. Sierra had practically let them overcharge her.
“Opal is someone worth making friends with. You can think of the extra money as buying goodwill and gaining an ally.” Sierra had thought it through clearly. “Besides, money is the one thing I’m not short on right now.”
Holly paused. After a while, there was a surprise in her tone as she said, “Now that’s something I didn’t see coming.”
“What?” Sierra blinked.
“You’re someone who can do something huge,” Holly said, suddenly feeling that she had been too narrow -minded all along. “If you want to catch a fish, you have to get wet. Are you sure Opal is someone worth befriending?”
“Yes,” Sierra said.
Sierra had trusted the background information she gathered about Opal for about seventy percent. After meeting Opal and talking to her, that trust in that information became valid.
Even after thinking it over repeatedly, Holly still said, “Do you remember lan from the last party we went to? The one who started flirting with you not long after we got there?”
“I remember.” Sierra did not have a particularly good memory, but she remembered everything from that party clearly. “What about him?”
“While you were talking business with Maxwell, I saw him with Opal. They were with a group of people, talking and laughing.” Holly did not want anything to happen to her friend. “I’m worried she’s the same kind of person they are.” (1)
“Some friendships are only on the surface,” Sierra said.

That one sentence was enough to make Holly understand, and she supported Sierra’s decision.
Meanwhile, on Opal’s side…
“Are we heading home?” the driver asked.
Opal played with the phone in her hand for a bit before pulling up a contact and made a call. “To the
company.”
A moment later, the call connected.
“What now?” Gary’s voice came through, his tone full of impatience.
“Just letting you know that Sierra is my business partner now.” Opal was as direct as ever and didn’t even bother to veil her words. “If anyone comes to you and asks you to get her into trouble during this time, you better not take it.”
Gary pushed back without thinking. “If that’s the case, I’ll take them all. What are you going to do about it?
“Nothing much.” Opal said the most threatening thing in the gentlest tone. “It’s just that when I get mad, I tend to get up in the middle of the night and turn you into my sister with a snip.”
Gar’s eyes opened wide on the other side of the call.
Listen to that!
Was that something a proper lady should say?
Where was her grace?!
