Chapter 53
John’s eyes became very dark as his finger tapped lightly on the table.
He did not say a word, but Kenneth could feel the chill from him even through the screen.
“Send me the list,” John said.
“Got it,” Kenneth replied. Then, “And your wife?”
Before he could get an answer, he watched in disbelief as his own phone was hacked. The rear camera switched on by itself, and a voice with no trace of emotion came through.
“Point the phone at the room. Go in only when I tell you.”
Kenneth went silent.
The guy could have just asked for a video call. Why did he have to hack his phone?!
Inside the private room, things were even rowdier than before. As Lucas dragged Sierra in, most of the attention in the room turned toward her.
“Come here.” Lucas yanked Sierra hard to the side. “Give them all a toast.”
“Mr. Bell! Who’s this…?” one man asked, letting his obscene gaze roam over Sierra from head to toe openly.
“My daughter, Sierra,” Lucas responded with a cheap smile, completely different from how he used to be. “She’ll drink with you all tonight. When it comes to our partnership, I hope you will all take extra care of us.”
“No problem, no problem!” Laughter roared around the table.
Sierra pulled away from Lucas’s grip with all her strength, hatred burning in her eyes as she glared at him. “Are you out of your mind?!”
She had imagined many things would happen, but she had never imagined this.
She was his daughter!
Slap!
Lucas slapped Sierra’s face, his eyes full of cruelty.
“I’m doing you a favor by letting you drink with all of them! Do you really think you’re still John Henderson’s cherished wife?!”
She had walked away from the marriage without a cent. Clearly, John had simply toyed with her until he was tired of her and tossed her aside. If he cared even a little, he would not have let her leave with nothing.
“John? John Henderson?” Someone in the room spoke up, suddenly worried. “You mean she’s that woman he cherished so much?”
The moment John’s name was mentioned, the emotion in every pair of eyes on Sierra changed. Everyone in their circle knew how much John valued his wife.
Once, a man had made a crude joke to her face. The next day, that man’s company stock crashed, and everything he tried afterward went wrong.
“She was, but they’re divorced now,” Lucas immediately explained. “You don’t have to worry about him coming after you.”
“Are they really divorced?”
“Of course! Wasn’t there a photo online of John spending the night at Lakeside Villa with another woman?”

“I thought that was the media making things up.”
“No outlet would post that kind of rummor without John’s agreement.”
After a few casual lines, everyone in the room understood.
The woman in front of them had fallen out of favor. She was no longer the one John cherished.
With that realization, every look thrown at Sierra turned openly brazen.
